From SmokeJumper in a thread titled: Are you good enough (and crazy enough) to work here?

QuoteWe've had a lot of luck in the past with hiring from our player community, so we're giving it a go again with two new positions.

We have an opening on our environment team for an artist that's great with Maya and Photoshop and has the desire to help build Norrath, one poly at a time. http://tbe.taleo.net/NA12/ats/careers/requisition.jsp?org=SONYOE&cws=1&rid=3605
We're also making a change in the Tradeskill area and we're looking to hire outside the company and bring in some fresh ideas. Can you be passionate *and* logical about Tradesklling? If so, then http://tbe.taleo.net/NA12/ats/careers/requisition.jsp?org=SONYOE&cws=1&rid=3606] http://tbe.taleo.net/NA12/ats/careers/requisition.jsp?org=SONYOE&cws=1&rid=3606
Please be sure to read any job requirements before applying and if you do apply...then thanks for your desire to help us build your world!

For anyone interested. I doubt it with the amount of SOE bashing that goes on anytime I bring anything to the boards, but I thought I'd pass it on anyway.

Hey, people need jobs, and I for one am always proud when they hire from folks I know.  I think it's great to bring these notices here.

That said, I've been burned pretty bad in DCUO lately and I feel as though Sony is a company that is badly in decline.  It's sad, but I guess that's the way of things and the torch gets passed on.  Still, perfectly good opportunity for anyone so inclined.
Valquiss, EQNL - TBD

Qwalin, GW2 - Tarnished Coast
Vilidius Truthsayer, SWTOR - Sanctum of the Exalted
Valquiss Silverpalm, EQ1 - Firiona Vie, Retired
Kord, EQ2 - Antonia Bayle, Retired

Sometimes the fanbase for a game knows and understands its game better than those who created it, and I for one am glad to see this info being shared.  This is a fine opportunity for EQ2 to improve and keep from stagnating, and even though I'm at odds with some of the decisions of late from on high, I still want to see the game improve so that maybe those differences will no longer be an issue for me someday.  You never know from where your next artist or developer could get plucked, but at least on one occasion, this method of recruiting has a proven record of success.  Where I feel SOE could really use the most help, though, is in positions of corporate influence because I think most of the artist and dev/design team is already pretty top notch in my book.

Does this tradeskill position have anything to do with our Didi?
Did she get a promotion?
The opinions expressed here are my own and I have my wife's permission to say so.

I'm pretty sure this was already posted somewhere else here a while back, but one of the original tradeskill system designers, Paul "Frizznik" Carrico, has been heading up the tradeskills department once again since late April when DominoDidiCataDesteNeetaBud became EQ2's Associate Producer.  Therefore, I'm not exactly sure how this opening plays into the tradeskill shuffle other than for want of a fresh perspective (aka fresh meat to follow in her legacy-leaving footsteps).
