Keshu's Tail
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Keshu looked down at the mans body, the dark blood pooling in the dusty street. He cursed bitterly. The strangers death meant nothing to him but the beastlord had lost control of himself and that he did regret.

Just moments earlier the man had come staggering out of the bar clutching a companion for support. They had been singing, happy, full of life. They had a look about them, dark
characters in a dark part of town. Keshu told himself that the ale that filled the mens bellies had no doubt been bought by someone elses lives and money and perhaps justice had been carried out.

It had all happened so quickly, one of the men lurched to the side and tripped and fell over Rishi Ka. Regaining his feet the man had foolishly kicked out at Rishi Ka savagely his boot connecting with her face.

Before Keshu could call her to him the man had lost two fingers just below the second knuckle, bone and flesh offering little resistance to Rishi Ka's powerful jaws.

Two fingers. A small price to pay for an attack on Rishi Ka Keshu thought to himself. But with drunken
> bravado the fool had not accepted defeat and as he bent over in pain he pulled a long cruel dagger from his boot. With the thrust of a skillful rogue he drove it deep into the tigers neck.

Keshu didn't remember what happened next but the outcome was obvious. His spear was still sticking several inches out of the corpse's back. Seized by rage he had killed a man, a man that would have been no match for him sober, let alone drunk and in pain.

His thoughts immediately shifted to Rishi Ka and he hurriedly cast his most powerful healing magic on her, marvelling at her strength and courage. Then came the realization that the mans companion was gone.

Of the seconds following the mans death only one image remained in Keshu's brain. A pair of eyes disappearing into the dark alleys of Freeport. A pair of eyes with a single clear message.

Revenge.
