This site is work checking, if only to access how much you have put out there on the web about yourself. Still, on the privacy side it's a bit spooky.
That said, if I were on a search committee, you can be sure I'd be using it to check out candidates.

Hm, an advantage of having an extremely common and boring first and last name. Tons of hits for my name, and none of them are me!
... of course, if you search for my various forum names, I'm sure that's a different story ... :D
All I found was one public record of birth for me (all the rest were evil clones; I'm glad I'm not them)! I really DO exist! Really, I DO! ;D
They have me, my mom, my dad, all the places I've lived and where I work :( Oh, and the ex.
The only good thing is they don't have me NOW. I'm sure that will change when I buy something.
Of course, you'd have to pay $40 to learn all of the specifics.
What spooked me out is the mapfinder for homes I used to own...a map to me! I don't like that.
*shivers*
Apparently there is a guy with the same name as me across town. Weird. I have a pretty uncommon name.. Beekman.
OKay, now this is really just creepy. :-\

Even though my name isn't all that common, there was still a lot of "false positives".
It correctlyl located my LinkeIn profile (no biggie). I also saw that it spotted public wish lists on Amazon for people with the same name--at least none of mine are public.
It even found an old MySpace page that I'm going to have to kill.
Oddly, it didn't find my Facebook page.
On other searches it has pulled up results on those high-school reunion sites.
Bleh.
Don't get paranoid.
This is all the same info you could find 10 years ago.
Just easier.
And Adeste, to search for ALL your forum names, would take longer than just tracking you down in-person.
:D
I live like a secret agent ... change names frequently ... move countries every few years ... never post a real name on the internet ... these are the rules I seem to live by! ;D
My work is advertised on the internet, good to see that pulled up!
Well, I didn't get a lot of sites about me that google didn't already have... Out of the 6 billion (and counting) people on the planet, I'm the only one with my full name, so it's not like I can hide... bleh... That's why I'm either going to have to be famous, or going to have to marry a guy with a ridiculously common last name... Or both! (Mrs. Luke Wilson sounds about right.... :smitten: )
I did find out that my dad owns more property than I thought... And his businesses and my brother's businesses are listed...
I need to do what Adeste does....
i don't exist.
I don't either. The only "Namae Nai" it finds is in New York somewhere. I claim identity theft!
I'm not in there... but now I know someone has the same name as me in northern France. At least there is not social security number or anything like that. Or maybe do you get them by paying ???
