Title: The End of Miko... :(

Kinda sad. I doubt she'll get ressurected like Roy did.

Kinda wonder why if Soon was supposed to be defending the throneroom, how Miko managed to get so close to destroying it when she killed Lord Shojo? Slow reflexes on his part?  ???

Most overdue death... ever. :)

Heh. Certainly it does make a lot of people happy. And her involvement now than Azure City is gone would be rather minimal anyway.

I just think she made a better antagonist than Nale and Xykon do. You really, really hate her, and I just don't get that same vibe from Xykon, and I mostly feel pity for Nale.

In our home campaign, we had a pet name for Lawful-Neutral alignment (which is what Miko is).  We called it lawful-stupid.

Strict adherence to rules and law without any personal interest in either good or evil, in stories and character design, is abhorrent.  It doesn't make for good heroes or villains, but instead real pain in the ass roadblock characters who serve as an obstacle to the heroes (and sometimes the villains) but for no good reason.

There's no poetry in it.

If she had fallen far enough to become a Blackguard, I might've been interested to see her stick around.  But staying as lawful-stupid as she was I just hated her (not in the delicious "I hate that villain" style, but in the "God that character is ruining the story please let her die" sense.

And now my wish has come true ;)

She changed a bit, I think and mostly for the worse. Miko entered the strip Lawful Good, for sure, or she wouldn't have bothered helping those dirt farmers, but somewhere along the line she stopped caring about anything beyond her being 'right' about everything.

She needed more treasure type "O"

Still best quote of the entire run of the comics...

Well, when you sum it up that way it could be an interesting tragedy especially if she was likeable to begin with.

Heh, I haven't read Order of the Stick in a while. :-)

Yeah, she started off LG, and slowly descended into LN.

That's part of why Roy liked her at first, but soon grew to hate her (and provoking the treasure type "O" comment :))

The Tribunal will not be happy with your opinion, Sylvestrae. ;)

Of course, they would not concern themselves with whether or not they are happy, but only whether the law has been followed.

And that's why they're only worshipped by thick-headed barbarians and the occasional city guard :)

I'm probably one of the odd ones in that I thought Miko had a lot of potential towards the end. I didn't care for you from the start, then I really started to hate any strip with her in it. But towards the end, especially when she lost her paladin previleges, I started to see a trully twisted villain emerging. I mean, she was getting certifiable, she was justifying every bad call thinking she was working for the true good, she believed her own bull, and she was one of the more deadly combatants in the strip. I was starting to see a nice Dr. Doom rising from the ashes. Of course, that sort of true dementia is a little heavy for the comic, but it would have been interesting to see played through. She would have made a truly scary villain.

Silly DM, Barbarians can't be Lawful.

"I didn't care for you from the start, then I really started to hate any strip with her " ...

Freudian slip?  ;)

... That was a weird slip, I'll admit.

I wonder if recently breaking up with a girl had anything to do with that? ... No, that's not true. A strip's a strip.   ^-^

well i was eagerly awaiting the day when Miko, forced to accept overwhelming evidence (gods zapping her paladinhood being a mild admonishment) that she was..... wrong. She could do one of those cartoon things, where she starts to crack like a pane of glass then fall to pieces to be swept up under the carpet by Belkar.

Lawful stupid for Miko i think insults stupid people. Lawful "blindingly self-righteous and egotistical" sounds better.

As for Soon, maybe as a ghost he realized after hopping back and forth in time that Miko was going to miss so he didn't bother appearing then.

don;t worry i'm sure Xylon or the gobby priest will make her an undead minion to join his merry bunch of villians. Actually i kinda enjoy the gobby high priest, the only villain so far with any sort of common sense at all.
