Oh, man. Lyr, I did *not* come to these boards to cry like that, hun. heh. I can't even put my finger on the why, but yeah I cried too. That is a very beautiful little girl with a very beautiful voice.

My son was amazed I cried. He couldn't get over it. And kept asking if the situation with Connie was real.  He was quite taken with the whole thing, which is how I found the second link.  We had to have more.

I have a better understanding why folks cry at operas, now, I think. Maybe.

Thanks for the link! She's amazing !!

Can you believe she *lost* to a guy whose name sounds like he led the Cambodian Genocide (Paul Potts)?

The guy was an opera singer of all things. Connie did way better than he did, but then I'm not an opera fan.  ::)

She's pretty amazing - what a voice for a 6 year old!  They should have had her sing one of the old war songs by Vera Lynn - "We'll Meet Again (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wC5P9PmXM5U)" or "The White Cliffs of Dover (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vBIhIpLbWco)" ... there wouldn't have been a dry eye in the house!
