Hello everyone, it's time for another check-in from a long-quiet member.
I'm still in the mid-west working in a library. I bought a house in June--20% down even--and I've learned the joys of lawn care.
The only computer game of any type that I play anymore is D&D Tiny Adventures on Facebook, and I'm pretty bad at keeping up with it at that.
The cool news to share is that I found out this weekend that my 100-word story "Just Like That Book" has been excepted for the January issue of Necrotic Tissue http://www.necrotictissue.com/ (http://www.necrotictissue.com/). It's the first piece of fiction I've ever had published, and I even get $5 and a T-Shirt for my effort. If you like horror, you might sign up for a free subscription to Necrotic Tissue--it's just a quarterly email reminder with a link to the newest issue with the subscription. I'll try to remember to come back and link the actual issue when it goes into their archives sometime in the spring.
Well done, Dee! Looking forward to giving it a read. And congratulations on the house purchase as well!

Lawn care, I hear you :)
Congrats on house AND the story...very exciting to be published.
I cannot stand horror, so you'll forgive me for steering clear?
:BH:
Congratz Dee!! :BH:
Can't wait to read it so please do link it when it's out!
Congratulations Dee! It's good to hear from ya! :)
Nicely done Dee! I just signed up so I won't miss the debut.

Pics with the compensatory tee are requried of course...

Issue #5 is now available for free consumption, and you can find my story on page 39.
I also sold another 100-worder for issue #7, but you'll have to buy that one. It's going to be the first issue in good old paper.
Dee! It's kinky! :smitten: Me likes...
Lyri, you can read it, it's more sexy than horror, IMO...
Oh, and gotta love your bio... Overdue fines? Math? So evil! :ana
Hehe...I'm not sure I was going for kinky. Sometimes kinky just happens.
I thought it was a nice counterpoint notion to all the "sexy vamp seduction" stuff out there, but boiled down into 100 words.
A reader of all the Anita Blake books, goes looking for a real version of the new dark fairy tale...(tail?)...but finds only a quick death at the hands of a predator. O0
Nicely done!
