Title: Danielle Ate The Sandwich
Post by: Zerzal Nephardyuel on January 23, 2009, 09:48:48 AM
I am so touched by this girl who calls herself "Danielle Ate The Sandwich" and this double project of hers with "Captain Burrito" that I thought I should share it.

Please, enjoy it!

Oh, she's adorable!  :smitten:

I love her voice, I love her ukele-playing, and I love her silly goofiness! I even love the fact that I cringe when she plays the violin, because she sometimes cringes when she plays it too.

I think my favorite is her video cover of "Dream a Little Dream of Me" sitting in front of the fridge, but I've always been partial to that song.

Thanks for the post Zerzal!

Uhhu! "Dream a little Dream of me" is one of my all time favourite ballads ever... and she lifts it up to some new level!

As soon as I have the money, in some months, I definitely will order her cd!
She's great!

I caught myself thinking I'd love to hear her do a ukulele cover of "Galileo" by the Indigo Girls, then I realized she was probably a baby when that song came out.  :o

But she could still do the cover!

Wow...thanks Zerzal! I had not cought this before ever, but she's great! Very talented voice, and writer, with such quirky and odd humor. Love it.

A couple of her original songs are quite touching.

Hehe, I see she has got some new fans!
And she deserves EVERY fan she can get.

BTW: I have sent her a message and she even answered! So she's also a nice girl!

@That Indigo song:
"Dream a little Dream of me" is written in 1931, and the best known cover version is from 1968.
I definitely know for sure that Danielle was not yet around in those days! I also am sure that the song you suggested is more recent, if you think that Danielle still was a baby back then, so...
So... Why couldn't she?

Oh yes! My comment about covering old songs had nothing to do with her ability (or interest) in older songs and everything to do with my shock that "Galileo" was an "old song".

I remembered "Galileo" as a folksy, quirky song that I think would fit her very well and actually suggested it as a comment on one of her YouTube threads. Then afterwards I was trying to remember when it came out and realized it was like 17 years ago! Where does the time go????

I'm at the age where "a couple years ago" in my head can actually be closer to "a couple decades ago" in the real world. And that still boggles me, on occasion.

Hehe.  Actually, I have to admit that initially I was more curious about finding out who could possibly be in a video featuring people calling themselves "Danielle Ate the Sandwich" and "Captain Burrito", and now I'm very glad I did.  That was quite good.  Thanks for sharing, Zerzal!
