I'm going to be playing...hopefully, BioWare has been following the SWG debacle and knows what NOT to do.

They have never disappointed me...I am praying they don't sstart.

Bah, the only setting in SW that might eventually tempt me, is "Tales of the Jedi", when Jedi still were REAL warriors, 5.000 though 4.000 years before the movies.

The problem is, that George Lucas has completely destroyed my enthousiasm for Star Wars by releasing the crappy prequels.

Heck, I enjoyed the two ewok movies better than episode I and II! I didn't even see episode III, I gave up!

Did you even watch the cinematic?  It is flippin awesome.  It is what Star Wars should feel like.  Also, the timeframe of the game is set 3000 (give or take a few) before the Skywalkers.

It does look interesting.  If there is interest in a Saga chapter in TOR, we will certainly be willing to discuss opening a guild there.

Yes I saw the cinematic. And it lookes smashing, true.
Episode 1 and 2 looked *WAY* better than Empire Strikes Back... but Empire Strikes Back was a WAY better movie. From the old trilogy the least good one was Return of the Jedi, though it had the best effects.
My point is, that "looking great" does not make a great movie... or a great game for that matters. Look at GTA. The new GTA episodes look way better than GTA 1 and 2, but GTA 1 and 2 were great fun, GTA 3 and subsequent parts are way too serious IMHO.

About the time frame: 3
000 years before the Attack of the Clowns?
No whiny little bug called Anakin Skywalker, who tries to ride a rodeo on a huge grass eating tick?
No Yoda who is too stoopit to say a single sentence correctly, and who does not fight, but suddenly jumps around with a lightsaber as if he were flubbered in a combat against count Doofus... errr... Doku, played by a genius, being Christopher Lee, in one of his worst parts EVER?
No Django Fett, the greatest bounty hunter in the entire universe, who looks, moves and talks like a couch potato? (Nice note: "Fett" means "fat" in German... coincidence? I think not!)
No great warriors called "Jedi" who have their enemies under control on the seating area of an arena... but suddenly release that very control to jump all close together and commit a completely senseless suicidal battle in the middle of the very same arena?

Well look... now *THAT* is a reference!
It might turn okay after all!

Main question: how much is George Lucas involved? The more, the worse!

Impressive... cinematic.

But this is not the actual game, just nice candy. I'd really like to see something done using the in game engine for a change.

Still, the only one MMO worth waiting for now :)
