...did Saga ever establish a chapter in Lord of the Rings Online? I flipped through lots of old threads, and found no mention of whether there was or not.
If the answer is 'yes', which server? I am not overly worried about dragging someone online JUST to be admitted, but I would like to have the correct server, in the event the opportunity presents itself. :)
If the answer is 'no', should I take the initiative and just create a chapter? Mind you, I know LotRO is one of those games that isn't likely to be flooded with players, as it is pretty much 'just another MMO', despite the great graphics.
Someone offered to fund a few months of the game (and loan me their software), so I have the game sitting on the desk staring up at me. Just curious as to whether there are any who have gone before me, and if there is a place in Middle-Earth where Saga has opened it's doors (server name). :wv
I remember a HUGE bruhahah about this issue, but I don't think Saga ever actually opened its doors on LoTR.
So if you have, YAY! :bdg
I think Talethia and Elsie left to LotR wen it launched and were playing for a long time though I'm not sure what server.
There are some Saga folks playing there, but there is no "Saga" guild. If you'd like to start one....feel free.

HUGE bruhahah
It was mostly a
HUGE "BRU" with very
little "hahah"....
I have nothing to contribute here but wordplay. Thanks for reading. :P
Well, hopefully there won't be any brouhahas this time 'round.
I started on the 'Landroval' server, the player-designated roleplaying server (Turbine, Inc. did not give any of their servers any designations) - thankfully, with the exception of one location, the Ettinmoors, which is the same on each server, the game is mercifully PvP-free.
I also realize that I'll likely be holding an even more solitude-ish vigil, lighthouse-keeper style, than I am in WoW at the moment (providing the name 'Saga' isn't taken, once I'm at a level that allows a guild 'Kinship' to be formed), but I am guessing those that remain in Age of Conan are experiencing that as well.
Ran into a slight snag...
To form a 'Kinship' (why do they do that? Guild...*guild*...), you need eight people to prevent it from disbanding after you form it, i.e. eight permanent members.
Fortunately, this is not like WoW, where you need ten seperate accounts...you merely need eight avatars to keep it from going bye-bye.
Of course, the maximum number of characters on any one server is seven, so I am one short to create Saga in Middle-Earth.
Now, I am not suggesting that someone get an account just so this can be finished. I will ask, however, if someone does decide to play the game, they let me know when they do, so that I can hijack them into helping create the...GUILD.
And if you do, be mindful there is no such thing as a female dwarf...makes you wonder...
The charter (mixed-race) is purchased, and all the paperwork is done - I just don't dare activate it yet.
And as a last thought in the post...there are RP servers for the folks in France, Germany, and England..but not a one for North America. Naturally, that's why Landroval is the unofficial RP server...we can't join the limeys on theirs. :P

Okay!
I overcame my 'slight snag'. Now that the alarmist notices from the Kinship automated functions screaming about disbandment have ceased, I feel safe posting this.
Saga is now officially an established presence in Lord Of The Rings Online.
It exists on Landroval, the (unofficial) North American RP server. Since 'Lilica' was already taken as a character name, I lifted a character name from WoW and used 'Delaunay' to establish the guild (the name 'Luste' likely wouldn't have even made it past the filter, and the skintones for elves don't range that far into the dark end of the spectrum - heck, I tried to make a hobbit called 'Honeysuckle', and was told I couldn't - by the game admin - because it had the word 'suck' in it. ::) ).
Gameplay is roughly equivalent to EQ2, with a lot of interesting twists. Titles and badges abound depending on the 'Deeds' you accomplish. Some of them are gained by grinding, admittedly, others by completions of certain quests, and the Dread and Radiance rules are good additions. Hobbits even start the game by coming face-to-face with one of the Nine (although only in a non-combat fashion), and get a great introduction to these rules.
Crafting is...not bad. It is more involved than WoW, but less so than EQ2.
I'd post screenshots, but I have proven singularly inept at managing things like Photobucket - I'll keep trying, but I won't promise anything.
Anyways, I realize that just because there is a chapter there now does in no way portend a rush of Saga-ites. Just know that if you decide someday that you'd like to give Middle-Earth a peek, you have a place to call home if/when you do.
