Title: I <3 San Francisco
Post by: Anaris on June 17, 2010, 09:30:01 AM
Ok....so San Francisco is....unique, for lack of better word...  Yes it's a beautiful city, but you see the craziest stuff go on sometimes...  SO, I shall be sharing with you periodically the weird and the funny (and in this case, the cute), that I find while reading the local papers each morning...

Here's today's:

Bunny rescue! (http://www.sfgate.com/cgi-bin/article.cgi?f=/c/a/2010/06/17/BAPP1E0D1F.DTL&tsp=1)

Adorable.  8(

Also, I had no idea we had "animal cops"....  I hope someone caught the raid on video and dubs it with like, a DEA drug raid... I am....tempted to adopt one....  I want one, and I'll call it Pino.

Cute story...but, bunnies should box. That's the cutest.

Pino like the artist? Or...the...er...tree?

If you got two bunnies, one could be Pino, and the other Noir.

Pino like this cute little thing (http://sagafamily.org/index.php?action=gallery;sa=view;id=1326) from Ergo Proxy.   I don't think a more adorable character has ever existed.  8(

Also, we can joke all we want about bees, but those little buzzzers can be deadly:

California man killed by bee attack identified (http://www.sfgate.com/cgi-bin/article.cgi?f=/n/a/2010/06/16/state/n173107D75.DTL&tsp=1)

The soccer games are making me really paranoid, too.  All I hear is the buzzzing of a colossal swarm of bees because of those darn vuvuzela trumpets they keep blowing... If you've seen any of the matches, you'll know what I'm talking about.   So.  Annoying/terrifying.

Behind you!

If all will be spayed or neutered before leaving the premises, why the difference in price between males & females?

To quote Peter Pan:  "One girl is worth more than 20 boys."

*sage nod*

Also, I called the shelter.  I have to wait till the weekend to pick up Pino.  Possibly till next week if they don't have enough time to get through neutering and spaying all the bunnies.  8(

I had a bunny for awhile when I was a kid....

The only thing I remember about it was that it crapped. A lot. A never-ending trail of little poo-pellets.

Just sayin'....

they also seem fond of computer cables. one of my firend's roomates smuggled one into their dorm room. one day we're playing Wing Commander 2 (yup i'm old) when suddenly the screen went black. my firend was freaking out somehting happened to his computer, then he looked around the back where a bunny hopped away and revealed a chewed through power cord.

Elmer Fudd was called in shortly after to take care of things.

They also "dig" through everything and chew anything they can get into their mouths. Be careful what you leave in "bunny range", especially electrical cords. I lost several game console wall warts to bunny attacks when I was younger.  :(

Hah! Wall warts! That's funny, because that's what they are.

I'll go away again. 8(

I hear bees.

Little known fact: I've always wanted a bunny but never got one on account of all the trains and bees. And trains of bees and bees on trains.

Also: Wing Commander Two was awesome.  I also enjoyed the Secret Missions.  Then Mark Hamil took over and it went downhill when the guy who played Biff was Maniac.

The truth hurts. Rabbits are lousy pets in my experience. Dogs are way cooler.  :tan:

We had a string of bunnies, guinea pigs, hamsters, lizards, turtles and other varied and assorted pets, including dogs and cats when I was a kid.  I always loved the bunnies.  They were so soft.  The best one was one named Sophia Loren, named that because of the large black circles around her eyes which I thought looked like make-up.  We called her Sophie.  She pretty much had the run of the house and yard and would come up and beg for treats.  If you don't have dogs that like to eat rabbits (our dachsund effectively put an end to our careers as rabbit owners) then they make great pets.  And who cares about rabbit pellets?   They are just recycled rabbit food which is not in the least stinky.  But if you do worry about such things, they are easy to train to use a sand box like a cat.

A rabbit named Sophie?   *dies*

....you just made at least two serendipitous references....  Or maybe you know what I'm talking about?  8(

They can be litter-trained? Really?  YAY!   Bunnies 8(

Bunnies trained to use a litterl box? Fantastic.

Bunny? $65, fixed.
Litter box and premium litter? $50
Fine dining on roasted Rabbit in Pino Noir reduction sauce? Priceless.

And as for rabbbit droppings...I dare any if you to try to stop walking permanently, and from this moment forward go anywhere you choose by hopping, and hopping alone. I can pretty much guarantee that by day four, you will be just like Askari said...hop, poo-pellet...hop, poo-pellet.

Deep (Drunken) Thoughts
by Jasyn Talyngard

Whenever I read about people blowing vuvuzelas, it makes me feel dirty.

While at university (read: public state college), I once had a professor, who had a similar problem to the hop-and-poop bunny.  Except it was more along the lines of teach-and-toot.  The back rows of the lecture hall filled up remarkably fast.

And oh yeah.  Yay!  Bunnies!

Okay, I'm confused Ana.  Does 8( = 8) ??

As for the bunny thing, remember: they grow up to be Rabbits.
