Just went to the movies (saw Toy Story 3, great show by the way !) and as part of the previews there was the new Karate Kid trailer...
Alright now am I the only one disturbed by the fact that Karate Kid does Kung-Fu ? :)
In Asian countries the movie is going to be titled, The Kung-Fu Kid or in Japan/Korea, Best Kid. It's only Karate Kid in us non-martial artsy countries in order to ride in on the nostalgia of the original film. And also, because the movie producer(s) think enough of us are dumb enough not to notice. :P
What will disturb me is if there's no Peter Cetera in the soundtrack...

Now THAT was disturbing......ugh. That darn Peter Cetera song won't get outta my head.
Son of a.....
Oh, one cool thing though, how'd you get the musical note characters in your post? That rocks.
As for the Kung Fu Kid....yeah, I read that a bit ago. I sort of suspected something might end up amiss when Jackie Chan was cast as Miyagi....
Press and hold down the ALT key on your keyboard (dunno if this works on a Mac, it's a Windows shortcut) and type '13' on the Number Pad. Release ALT and the character will appear. The result is ♪. For ♫ you want to type '14' instead. You have to use the number pad, as the numbers on the row on top of the letters don't work for this. You can use this shortcut for all sorts of freaky and unusual characters, like Kagemaru gets. ☼►◄↕‼☺ just for starters. :)
Well,I want to try that!
Let's see...
um...wait!
My laptop doesn't have a number pad!
Now what?
You're out of luck for simply using ALT codes, sadly.. but, you can try Charmap. (http://tlt.its.psu.edu/suggestions/international/accents/charmap.html)
I'm glad to know I'm not the only one who had the same reactions when I saw the trailers for this "remake". And I do mean both the Kung Fu and the ♪♫Peter Cetera♫♪ issues.
OK, gotta weigh in...
Keep in mind, this is a metal head speaking
Love, love, love, sadly I don't know the name of the tune...

Good stuff! ::)

Even though their song is great, I'm still trying to figure out how When in Rome worked their way into the Kung-Fu Kid thread ??? BUT... Namae, I finally got around to watching the Funny or Die video, and it's definitely worth more than the price of admission. ;D
