I notice they list "origins uncertain".
If I recall correctly, it's an acronym for "We Owned the Other Team" and people started saying it back in the day to celebrate PvP victories.
(example: "The Zerg are victorious! WOOT!")
It then morphed into the equivalent of "we win!"
And these days, people use it for any type of celebratory exclamation.
Of course, I can't be sure that's the origin... but it's how I remember it.

Ahh. He's too adorable. I do miss that show. All the good ones get cancelled.
Hiro is now the medical examiner for Hawaii 5-0. He's still adorable. :)
