Now that the beta weekend is over and the game is a few weeks away, then christmas - which I wont be around for ( family woo ) - figured Id start a topic on what do you enjoy on the tv? What do you watch to relax you, or you cant wait to watch this weeks episode and so on? A kind of getting to know each other a bit more~
My tastes run the entire spectrum personally. I watch Fringe, Walking Dead, Nurse Jackie, the Good Wife, and Once upon a time ( grimm to ). Also watch comedies like community, 30 rock, big bang, mike and molly, suburgatory, modern family and now and then some cartoons ( waiting for the last airbender legend of korra ).
I tend not to watch my hour long shows right away though, I save that to take on family visiting trips or when there no new shows on, so for example, this christmas Im watching the walking dead , and fringe so far this season.
Fringe, NCIS, Clone Wars on occasion. And you bet I'll be catching the next Airbender series.
Currently I watch:
- The Walking Dead [awesome sauce]
- Clone Wars [downhill since they introduced Cade Bane in season 2]
- The Big Bang Theory [I like nerdy humour]
- Terra Nova [I like the premise even if there are some inconsistencies/impossibilities]
That is sorta all right now.
I look forward to Walking Dead and Terra nova the most lately. I download everything though so I watch it a bit later than it airs on TV but with no commercials so I call that a fair trade.
Thats how I watch my cartoons - although if I like it , I end up buying them - looks at avatar 3 book dvd set.
Currently I'm watching:
Misfits
Once Upon a Time
The Secret Circle
Gossip Girl (don't judge!)
Happy Endings
Community
Sons of Anarchy
Fringe and Criminal Minds are my top two. I whish BSG wasn't ended (never had the opportunity to watch Caprica).
The only shows I watch nowadays are Mad Men and... well, Mad Men. Although I am looking forward to The Last Airbender: Legend of Korra, nothing else really seems to hold my interest anymore, and I don't particularly know why. Take the Walking Dead, for example. A sixteen year old me would've done vastly inappropriate things to the T.V at the mere thought of a high budget drama about zombies, but current me? Everything just feels so "meh" now.
Anyways, I tend to watch reruns of long cancelled, or just "old" shows instead. I have a Class 4 Whedon fetish, for example, and used to watch his shows in marathon format for ages. You know you're a Buffy freak when, after power watching Welcome to the Hellmouth all the way to Chosen in a single month, you simply take out your season seven DVD, put it back in its case, then immediately start playing season one again.
I also have an addiction to anime. Cowboy Bebop, Hellsing, Trigun, Neon Genesis Evangelion, Code Geass, Samurai Champloo, Full Metal Alchemist, Berserk, Death Note, Monster, Elfen Lied, Beck, and Gantz -these are all like a drug to me. Well, that, and coke.
They are making more Airbender stuff? Awesome. I will have to get that. I enjoyed the first series immensely.
I watch Doctor Who, Archer, Venture Bros. and a smattering of South Park. Get it all online - I dropped cable TV earlier this year, so my TV is basically nothing more than a monitor for DVDs and Xbox.

I use my T.V. for my PC. O0
I don't watch TV, so much as watch DVDs and downloads of three-year-old programs. Our family tends to be waaaay behind the curve, and we'll suddenly *discover* a show and then binge on multi-season benders. This method has brought us to Psych, Chuck, Community, Castle, White Collar, and Leverage (our current fixations). My son and I will deconstruct Chuck endlessly. Part of the reason for this is that we live next to a TiVo executive and he keeps replacing our TiVo box with beta boxes/software he wants us to test, so we never really get a chance to program it with current shows.
My husband and I are also total Alton Brown fanbois and we love us some Top Chef and Next Iron Chef.
I used to be a Project Runway fan until Gretchen sucked the life out of the show.

YAY! Another Doctor Who fan!

Historian, practically. I've seen every episode from 1963-2011 except for the last bit of this season I need to catch up on. I've even "seen" the lost episodes.
I am sort of so-so on TV, as others choose a lot of the programming, and I don't fall for much of it. However there are a few shows I like, or have loved. The loved ones are not current per se, but I watch them on DVD or on-demand regularly so they are still "on".
* Mad Men - (Best show to exist since the untimely death of my beloved Firefly.)
* The Daily Show/Colbert Report - (I enjoy seeing bull$#*t called on lying, cheating, stealing, motherless son's-a-bi....ahem....."authority" figures. Who says heroes can't be funny?)
* Psych - (If you have any living memory of the 80's, they pay some very funny homage to the pop culture of the time.)
* No Reservations - (Like Mixxi's crew, I kind of like food related shows, and this one is my fave. But I also dig Alton Brown a lot, and others. If I were cool, I'd be more like Anthony Bourdain.)
* NFL Football - (MMmmm football.)
* South Park - (Never has philosophical thought and utterly low humor been combined so well.)
I like Castle and Chuck and such alright, but I think a lot of that has to do with my Firefly zeal.
My past and future loves are....
* Firefly - Best. Show. Ever.
* The Last Airbender - (So glad more is coming, this was a great show!)
And on an odd note, honorable mention goes to The Gilmor Girls. I wasn't the target audience, but the dialogue was so well timed and witty that I couldn't avoid liking it.)

Wow. Your TV schedule + work + TOR + sleep = 34hrs a day. Good luck with that.
I work in TV. I watch TV 8 hours a day and get paid for it.
And I play games while I watch TV. That's why the voice acting is going to be difficult for me to get used to. And why I don't use Mumble.
Plus if you cut out sleep that's 8 more hours to watch TV.
And with a DVR, you can watch 4 hours in 3, so that helps too.

Awwh, I'm old. I swear I'm almost on the verge of getting my first facial hair! ;D
I really don't watch a lot of tv consistently anymore. I don't own a tv and I often forget to keep up with shows on the internet. However, I do watch a few shows on my brother's tv (one of the advantages of having apartments next door to each other). I also occasionally watch shows with my parents on hulu or dvd when I visit them.
Show that are still on the air:
The Walking Dead
Doctor Who (new series)
Castle (I haven't watched it in a while so I need to catch up)
Glee (haven't kept up and haven't seen as much as I would like)
Psych (haven't kept up with it)
The Sing Off
a variety of cooking/food shows
Cancelled shows I watch on dvd or Hulu:
Firefly
Star Trek: anything except Enterprise
Stargate
The Mary Tyler Moore Show
I Spy
The Rockford Files
The Man from U.N.C.L.E.
Doctor Who (old series)
Thunderbirds

Next to Nathan Fillion actually buying the rights to Firefly and getting the band back together, this is about as good as TV news gets.
Oh and Ryland, don't forget time parenting! You live a 39 hour day. :D

That's pretty much the same for me. We don't even have cable except during football season (I'm a huge Gamecock fan). I only watch movies or TV shows on DVD. I've totally lost patience for TV commercials. Also the TV shows I like tend to be serials and I hate waiting for the next installment.
Shows I've enjoyed: Battlestar Galactica (until middle of third season. Sucks after that), Star Trek Enterprise, Deadwood, Rome, Camelot (sadly cancelled after one season), Rome, Horatio Hornblower and Trublood.
I'm looking forward to the DVD release of Game of Thrones as the books are awesome!

It's certainly the awesomest I've heard in some time. Thanks for the link!
I knew Jayne could be a nasty sonovabitch. I didn't realize Adam Baldwin could play the kind of cruelty Casey shows in this clip from Chuck, though. (The relevant bit is from 1:30 to about 2:20.)
*****SPOILERS FOR THE LATEST EPISODE OF CHUCK******

I know. How cruel is that?
Though he does redeem himself by telling Morgan there are only 3 Indiana Jones Movies.
Nothing, I don't have cable. But I'll watch random things on Netflix. I was a steady Bones and NCIS viewer when I did have cable.
