once I get established in TOR with a character I feel I will be on for a while, is it possible to edit one's board username? gretchgamer is just my game-related yahoo mail account. Eventually, if I am active on a given "main," I might want to switch to that. Is that something mods or admins can do, or would it actually require registering for the board under the new name.
Good question, I was wondering the same thing myself. Hopefully someone has an answer.
The answer is.... That it's better to not change your Board name for the sake of clarity. Once people start switching around their names someones bound to get confused. Keeping it simple helps the officers keep track of the minions.
It can be done.....it may or may not be done.
Personally I'd prefer a single identity for in-game and on the boards.
Can still be done as far as I know but as several members of the Family have a severe Hundred-Alts-Creation syndrom it can make things difficult to follow (*eye... man what's her latest char name again ?* :)).
Not recommended to ask for it, save maybe to get your absolute definite main char name.
I've had 3 names on these boards in 5 years.
It can be done. Just don't change it every month, please.
BTW, I've had 3 legal names in 5 years in Real Life too.
A way to side step any confusion is to simply list the other names by which you have been known in your signature.
I'm a big fan of having my forum name match my character name. I've just always just the SAME name for several games.
Thinking it might be time for a switch.
What think you? No more Lyri?
Lyri'ma the twi'lek!
Perhaps Kiaria, Consular of the Republic, healer of all? ;)
I know! I loves my character names.
But Kiaria comes with too strong a personality that doesn't suit the new girl.
The other one is based, largely, ON Lyrima with a twist or two. But Lyrima has always been a wood elf or elf of some kind. How can she be another race?
I'm most torn about Lyrima. And I was remembering that apostrophes were allowed in names, so was thinking exactly as Rumze suggested!
But what's a twi'lek? I'm still out of the loop on which race is which...

All that the force contains is contained on that link.
Or something like that.
