At least on my machine, I mean.
I can get on to do my Mistress of Initiates duties, but I crash about every 20 minutes.
I've tried what I could from what I read before pre-release.
My computer handles the game fine with medium graphics, it just stops.
So until I upgrade, which is someday in the not to distant future, I can't really participate in stuff. I don't want to group for fear of leaving in the middle. And RPing in/saga is not fun because I miss half the conversation while re-logging in.
If you happen to read anything on SWTOR forums that sounds like a fix, I'll happilly listen.

I feel so bad for you. Wish we could do something. :'(
Man no kidding...I too havce struggled a bit lag wise with teh current build, and am working on a new build to combat that. But at least I don't typically lock up every 20 mins.
I sure hope you find a fix or budget room for an upgrade....and in the meantime, I'd group with you if it came up, 20 minute breaks or no. Just sayin'.
How do you crash? Do you crash to a black screen or does it dump you at server select with an error message? Crashes you to desktop?
I've had several different problems on several computers here, so I might have come across something in my own journeys of discovery on the SWTOR forums.
So what are the exact symptoms?
It just says "Star Wars the old republic has stopped working. Windows is attempting to find a solution."
But it never does. It just dumps me out to desktop, yes. I think it is a memory issue, but everything else runs fine. Once in a while, it gives me a blue screen of death, which is why I suspect it is my PC that is the problem.
Sorry to hear that. Personally I am having a little trouble to run it smoothly on my own computer, but nothing causes crashes. Also:

Is your video card overheating? It sounds like a problem I had a while ago where the cards where just overheating and shutting down, occasionally blue screening.
Do you turn shadows off? Turning shadows off was a huge help for me before I was able to upgrade.
Everything I can find for people who are having appcrashes says that they're crashing at stages before actually playing (after the cinematic, at character select, after pressing "play") but I can't find anything for people who are actually able to play, but still crash.
And I'm assuming you've updated the drivers. They've been releasing driver updates for some of the cards since the game launched.
*wanders off to poke around teh internets more*
This echoes Rumze: Blue Screen of Death
If you're getting a blue screen of death after you've been playing for a bit, the most likely cause is an overheating video card. Opening up the computer and cleaning out the fans is one of the best fixes you can try if that doesn't help, try turning down the graphics detail for a while and see if that helps.
Again, turning shadows off may help, too.
This is from a nice compendium thread I found on the SWTOR forums that pulls together information on a ton of the problems people have been discussing on the forums: http://www.swtor.com/community/showthread.php?t=890 (http://www.swtor.com/community/showthread.php?t=890)
Yay Mixxi! The solution finder! :bdg
What OS are you using?
Have you tried running it in an XP Compatability mode if you're Vista or Win7?
Check this too. Keep in mind that crash to desktop is often different than blue screening.

I do run with shadows off. And bloom. I hate the bloom.
All drivers updated.
The PC has a thermometer on it, and it runs cooler then Civilization 5, though I think that's monitoring the CPU.
The fans are clean and air flow is good.
I'll try playing with low graphics (my hat won't be as pretty though) and with the side panel completely off for a bit and see what happens.
Thanks everyone. You like me, right now, you like me!

Dunno about them, but I adores you!
:smitten:
Ryland, you work harder than anyone else, and you should be able to play. *hugs*

Even if you can't get the full enjoyment from the Hat, the rest of us will, and we will make sure to let you know how awesome it is. :D
Ok, I had a video card overheat on my old PC. It would shut down the whole Computer. I fixed it by opening it up and putting a box fan on it. Ran fine after that.
