Lucas' first story resonated because it's the freakin' Journey of the Hero. The dogfight over the Death Star is the dogfight in Wings. And he had a VERY talented group of people creating the look and sounds of the world. The movies that were more purely his original creations were justifiably criticised. That's gotta rankle.
He never should have divorced the editor.
Sounds a little thin-skinned to me.
He has a billion dollar industry tailored to internet fans and those that shout the loudest get heard. Hope he doesn't run for politics.
