I'm a huge fan of Felicia Day, there's a new video out though from her series The Guild. If you haven't seen it, do. It's a great series with a generic mmo they play and all members are a part of a guild of local members (all in the same geographical area). I say generic mmo, because they aren't playing eq2 or wow, but a world that is a mix of all fantastic mmos (eq2, wow, lotro, etc, etc).
Anyways I love the other two they did, Do you Wanna Date my Avatar (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=urNyg1ftMIU), and Game On (which I can't find, but if you can it's a great song).
Now they released I'm the One That's Cool (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jFhgupR565Q&list=UUaBf1a-dpIsw8OxqH4ki2Kg&feature=plcp) as a part of her new channel Geek & Sundry (really cool channel, they are uploading all seasons of The Guild so new folks can watch before Season 5 is released). Anyways I wanted to share it because I can totally relate. I was bullied in HS for being a tomboy & geek, but now, I'm considered the cool one lol =D. Anyways love the song, so much that I even bought it this morning off Amazon (all three songs are available on amazon & itunes, which made me really giddy :tan:).
Edit: fixed the link, sorry about that!
I :smitten: The Guild! Haven't watched the new vid yet but will soon, now that you've pointed it out. I need to make sure I'm all caught up for the new season, too. Sometimes I fall behind and forget. :smiley6600:
I think Game On was the one they did in Bollywood fashion, it was really good, but the first is still my fave. :)
I love the songs they've done, and this one is every bit as awesome as the others.
Bonus awesome: After I watched the video, I took off my headphones and told my 14yo daughter, "Hey, you've got to hear this new song by Felicia Day..." She responded, "You mean the one I'm listening to right now?"
I :smitten: my kid. :D
Jaysn, yup that's the one they did like a bollywood presentation. I simply love the beat, the first has always been my favorite but now this new one is.
Alirrin, wow that's awesome! I can only hope that when my husband and I finally adopt, ours will be just as cool. I'm totally intending on raising them in the geek fashion I was encouraged to cast aside by my family (I was being picked on, which is why they tried to get me to quit being a geek lol, you can't just not be you, yanno?)

Thanks, I try my best. When she was 12 we took her to see Eddie Izzard in concert (at that point she could recite many of his routines) and she is now the extremely proud owner of a "Cake or Death" knit cap that she wears everywhere. When I told her we had tickets to Emerald City Comic-Con, her first reaction was "Oooh, I get to meet George Takei!" (Sadly, she didn't, as she wasn't feeling well after the first day :( )
It sounds like you have a great daughter Alirrin, keep up the good work.
The link in the original post doesn't seem to go to the I'm the One That's Cool video. While googling the video, I found a blog post that should be very interesting to Saga:

Personally, I think Bare Naked Ladies have been successfully doing the "geek" band thing for a long time now. Although I did like them a bit better before Steven Page got himself into trouble.
I watched most of Felicia Day's 12hr live subscribathon broadcast this past Sunday lol. I played TOR and watched other stuff while doing so. Everyone subscribe to her channel(s)!

Loving it! O0
Hehe. This thread just got me to re-watch the originals. Game On (http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=endscreen&NR=1&v=xMrN3Rh55uM) wasn't too hard to find. An embedded link popped up while I was watching the last few seconds of Do You Want to Date My Avatar (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=urNyg1ftMIU).
LOL @ Zaboo versus Real Life. I'd forgotten how amusing the whole Bollywood schtick actually was.
In the process, I stumbled onto Felicia doing a fun acoustic version (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dd6XMHynvM4&feature=related) of Date My Avatar.
But the new one? I'm the One That's Cool (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=urNyg1ftMIU)? Wow... just watched it (finally!), and I'm hooked. This video was pretty awesome on an entirely different level from the others. Those were merely entertaining. This one is catchy and really, really well done, and the visceral connection this new geek anthem makes with Geek-kind is totally palpable.
Felicia Day is my hero! Thank you for sharing this! O0
Speaking of Felicia Day... she's voice-acting in Guild Wars 2! Here's a video of her (and some of the other cast members) laying down some tracks.

OK, that was pretty cool. I love seeing behind the scenes of voice acting.
Also, DAMN YOU for pointing out that Felicia Day is in GW2. I can feel my resistance crumbling ...

Oh gosh! That wasn't my ulterior motive at all! <tries to look innocent> ^-^

Poor kid. Though at least she got to experience one day. :)
On topic: I also really like this song, I actually all the songs from The Guild. However I think this is probably their best yet.

Speaking of violins...have you checked this one (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IL5K09mqwZc) out Ryland? This dude is amazing (and even got invited to play his electric violin on Glee)
I don't spend a lot of time on youtube. But when I do, I like to listen to recommendations from friends.
Thanks Trouble.
