I randomly came upon this city while randomly exploring in Google Maps for absolutely no reason. I like its name. I feel like the population would be a lot more than such a small place could handle.

Oh, I've heard of that place. We covered that in school. It used to be the capital city, didn't it? Before they changed to Washington DC. ;)
Just kidding, of course, I know nothing about geography.
They settled south of a lagoon that someone--judging from the name "Laguna de la Leche"--was fooled into thinking was filled with milk. My guess is that the town was named either for the person who discovered that lake or the person to whom he sold it.
;D
A milk lake? That sounds a lot less inviting on a very hot day.
It is on an island somewhere in the Gulf of Mexico actually. Dunno why I ended up there. I was seeing how far away San Diego was from Toronto since someone said they were going to be there for a Con and then I started zooming in on islands.
Good name though.
Cuba, specifically. Of course, I cheated in order to find that out.
Quote"Laguna de la Leche"
This is actually a funny name in French... it could translates rougly as "Ass kissers laguna" :)
