So at my middle school today (and it is a public school, not private), three students dressed up as operating systems. One kid was Linus Torvalds and carried a Linux sign, one was Bill Gates and carried a Windows sign, and one was Steve Jobs and carried an OS X sign. I can't believe there are many schools around where kids do this. I also had a 7th-grader who I'd never seen before come up and ask me if the guy on my brooch was Nikola Tesla. (It was.) *hugs her geeky neighbors and their families*
Nice O0
Very cool!
The Tesla thing is particularly impressive.
Yeah, that is all very cool...but the Tesla bit was my favorite. Kudos to the 7th grader for not only knowing who Tesla is, but having the gumption to approach unknown teacher to confirm their guess!
I told the kid he'd made my day and then I proceeded to make the "I am not worthy" gesture to him. :)
You need to move to Canada 15 years ago and teach me grade 7.
When you finish teaching Gith grade seven, would you mind popping over to Australia and showing me the "not worthy" gesture 'cause I don't know it.
I can do that from here.

Though I shouldn't deprive you of a visit from Mixxi.
Thank you, Pinkie. That is what I was imagining. Now I'm trying to get my brain to picture Mixxi kow-towing to the year seven child. It's rebelling against the image for some reason.
I imagine it was done while standing.
And now Mixx has no excuse to come see me. Back to the drawing board.
Yep. That one.
And I'm holding out for us all getting together in New Zealand for a Hobbit location tour.
