Title: Dee Caudill
Post by: Lyrima on December 21, 2012, 04:09:22 PM
Some of you may remember him.  Awesome gamer, good friend, great guy.

Died in May of this year from a long battle leukemia. :(

He was an FB friend of mine...

I think his page is open to all now, thanks to his dad.

Wow. I'm speechless.
I don't know what to say.
You can see his  posts here. (http://sagafamily.org/index.php?action=profile;u=20)
He was a very learned man. And was very involved with Saga on the boards.
It's awful and tragic. I never got to meet him. Nor did he get to meet me, but that's less tragic.
He's a part of Saga forever now.

He will be missed.

And in his honour, take a moment to reach out to those imaginary friends we all have online and let them know how you feel about them. And invite them to join us here.

Once Saga, Always Saga.

Well said, Pink.

Here's his post about his illness:

He was pretty upbeat and uninterested in any "sick talk" on FB.  Although, if I asked (and I did, off and on) he'd tell me what was going on.  I'd like to think I'd handle it as beautifully as he did.  He was pretty matter of fact about it all--at least in text.

Anyway.  I'm feeling awful that he died and that I didn't realize it until today.

Thank you, thank you so much for the update.  Coincidentally, I was just thinking about him last month and wondering how he had been progressing--especially since it had been such a long time since we'd heard anything from him here.  Naturally, I was concerned about that but didn't dwell on it long, knowing he preferred it that way.

EQ2 was where I spent the most time as his co-guildie, and it's a testament that despite all those countless hours, amazingly, I honest to goodness can't remember a single character he ever played as.  But in the end, through his words, I do remember the man.

*lights a candle*

My condolences. I did not know him but from just hearing about him it appears to have been my loss.

I couldn't seem to post yesterday. I couldn't think of what to say about a guy that I really wish I had gotten to know better. We played together some, but not enough, as I was on the "evil" side in EQ-2 in the early heyday.

I was always impressed by Dee Caudill. Good player. Good person. Good role-play. A guy with intellect, wit, and wisdom. A person with perspective worthy of admiring....emulating.

Just a classy person all around.
