Well in less than 10 hours it is due to start snowing here in the UK and it is not expected to let up until late tomorrow night!! Local stores are sold out of bread, milk, and sugar (true fact) leaving me wondering whether I am going to get through the next 48 hours.
No doubt the infrastructure will have broken down by morning under literally centimeters of snow.
I think Robert Falcon Scott said it best: "We are very near the end, but have not and will not lose our good cheer."
Maybe the Mayans weren't so wrong after all...
As long as there is tea, there shall be no quarter given to the icy grip of nature!
Well thank God the stores weren't sold out of port. Now THAT would have been a cold-weather disaster.
Seriously, though, keep cozy. Hopefully a commute to work will not be on the snow-day agenda.

Don't fret, Oakmist.
We had flooding here, or even a long weekend and people lose their minds. "NO, the shop won't be open for 12 hours, better stock up on bread and milk."
My guess is most of those went stale before they were used or filled up someone's freezer. Twits.
Definitely not a portent. You'll be fine. See you in a day.
I know, it's crazy - we're likely to have a few inches...that's inches...not feet...and it's all anyone has been talking about all week. I shall be driving to work and going about my normal business.
1. Don't panic
2. Keep close tabs on your towel
