Title: Pax Wildstar Updates
Post by: Elly on September 03, 2013, 12:01:07 PM
Some new footage in this overview from David Bass- also a nice intro to someone who has no idea what Wildstar is about.

Also- a play by play from the Pax Panel

(they had me at DINOSAUR MOUNT WITH SIDE MOUNTED LASERS) I also love that when you discover cool mini puzzles and such out in the world, you can 'bring them home' to be a mini dungeon/activity to do with your friends on your home plot.

See. It looks really fun with a ton of stuff you can just bang away at to amuse yourself (houses with floor pianos anyone?)

I think for a game that is just fun and great to play with other people Wildstar is (hopefully) going to be great. I really hope people are going to give Wildstar a try. I know the guild was founded in EverQuest but I could spend a couple of months just collecting stuff to make my house look awesome in this game. And the different types of PvP looks awesome. I want to get back to the days of playing Huttball with all the peeps. That was awesome. And if by playing more PvP we can make a better WarPlot that is even more incentive!

Honestly, Gith, Wildstar does sound fun, but I think the kicker for me will be the sub fee. I know it's no more than any other MMO sub, but I've come to enjoy the Free to Play/Buy to Play/A'la Carte model far too much to go into another sub game as quickly as I once did. I'm not sure if I can afford another sub game. If SWTOR didn't have such a crappy F2P model I'd have canceled my sub there long ago.

I like being able to snap up a couple of shinies in a cash shop to support a game I like when I have a bit of extra spending money, but know that I don't have to give up my game during months when I can't spare the sub fee or don't play often enough to justify paying it. With F2P games I can easily pick the game up and put it down in a pattern that perfectly fits the fluctuation of cash flow and scheduling.

I do wish it didn't have a sub fee, but then we slim down our budget in other places (like not having cable tv). It's equal to us going out to one movie a month.

It's pretty probable Wildstar will come out at least 3-6 months before EQN, we're hoping to split our time between there and Landmark. We've been missing challenging dungeons and other PVE content so we might be able to get our fix there.

Maybe when the time comes, interested Saga people who want to play can designate Wildstar nights so we can get enough to dungeon run. :)

I'm hoping everyone is down with playing the Exiles, I just can't get myself to play too much on Red-side. :P
