Title: Hello again! :)
Post by: Jhared on December 12, 2013, 02:36:15 PM
Hi!  I noticed the EQN thread on eqn-rp.com and thought "Saga is going to play EQN..? ???" and immediately afterwards thought "I am a dummy. Of course Saga is going to play EQN! :D".

So, that said, I thought I'd make a thread to say hi, reintroduce myself and explain where on Earth I've been. I feel like I owe Saga at least that.

I don't know if I left much of a lasting impression and if you remember me, but I used to play SWTOR with you a year and a half(?) back. If you don't, I get it, it's a long time ago. Thing is, I have fond memories of Saga and that's what is important to me at least.

For those who don't know/remember me then I am a Dane from the wonderful nation of Denmark where we have endless golden waterfalls of Tuborg (http://www.carrieandjonathan.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/02/tuborg-denmark-beer.jpg) and red fields of bacon (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Danish_Bacon). I'm 22 years old and primarily enjoy strategy and roleplaying games. I've been playing CIV for as long as I can remember and have been playing MMOs since WoW launched. That sort of translates into my first moments in my first MMO being me not quite being able to figure out how to shoot with a bow as a troll hunter, so I whacked things with an axe instead for a while. That is... until I had that moment of clarity eight levels later. ::)

I haven't been roleplaying quite as long as I have been playing WoW, in fact when I first started to roleplay it was a couple of years later. I was also terrible at it by the way, but to be honest that does not matter me. I had a lot of fun. I figured out I really enjoyed this roleplaying business, and through passion I got a little better. I don't know if I am exactly good at it now, but I still find it very fun. I've roleplayed in every MMO I have played since then. That is Rift, SWTOR, and TSW.

After years of playing WoW I quit after the Cataclysm expansion and I played SWTOR with you guys. And I had great fun. I RP'd this rather callous character called Jhared Caeyrn, and built up a bit of background for him and made some associated characters. In hindsight, perhaps too much background. That's a problem I have - sometimes I start and cannot stop. I played SWTOR until the game started to bore me and I looked towards greener pastures, those pastures being The Secret World. I played that for quite a while until I quit. I ran on a tight budget at the time and the game was pay-to-play, and I had run out of content to consume.

So. I managed to leave my current MMO and was left without any MMO I wanted to play. I had not been in that situation for a long time, not since before I started on WoW(!). Instead of MMOs I turned to single player games, and I've been playing single player games ever since.

I am still playing SP games, but some time ago I was made aware of a certain new MMO that is coming (EQN), and it made me think that this might be the MMO I have been waiting for. Thus I have been following the game for a while. Then a few hours ago I found eqn-rp.com and saw the guild thread and was like "I KNOW YOU GUYS". So I thought if I was going to play EQN, it'd probably be with Saga. That is, if you'll have me back.

Well that was quite a wall of text. Think I'll add a TL;DR to sum things up.

TL;DR: HELLO I WENT VIKING BUT NOW I AM BACK (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3pK3d2Pk0Zk) :wv  :viking2:

Welcome! Any chance you're going to play Wildstar or Landmark while you're waiting for EQN? Would be fun to be around Saga folk wielding blasters again. Dangerous...but fun.

It's very likely that I will pick up Landmark while waiting for EQN, although I am not too experienced with crafting games. I think the most experience I have is making a tower of Babylon in Terraria. But then, that's no excuse to not try and roleplay or build a little there!

Also is Wildstar any good? I heard it was very WoW-ish, but that's not necessarily a bad thing.

Welcome back from me as well! If for some reason you aren't aware of Saga's history, we formed in EQ1 and for a long while our banner game was EQ2. Then things splintered a bit, with various shorter term obsessions and starts and stops. I would expect EQN to be Saga's primary home for quite some time, considering our ties there. And I'd also expect our cohort to be as strong as it's been in ages. So it would be great to have you along for the ride!

Again, welcome!

I know, Vil, that's why I found myself to be a bit of a dummy for not thinking of it before. :D

Thanks for the welcome back. :)
