Title: A look at Wildstar's Art Style and Mounts
Post by: Elly on January 17, 2014, 06:57:26 AM
Couple new vids to toss out there. First one is a look at the zone 'Deradune'. What struck me watching it is a nod to old Disney- it reminds me of being in the bucolic fields of Fantasia, especially with the dawngrazers gently loping around.

There's also a loving nod to WoW, of course. It doesn't come off as a copy, but rather as a reincarnation. Echos of it, but they've achieved a true alien/sci fi feel. There's an artsy vid of all the starter zones done by the same people.

The other vid I have is an Exile's Mount video by Kaeyi. Nice to see all the current options. I expect mount collecting will happen, but the hoverboard really has an edge by letting you double jump and being able to go over water.

p.s. So far I really dig the art style of this game's armor. Can't wait to see some high level stuff.

I do miss something from my short stint in Asheron's Call. A Massive 100x100 in game mile map with no zones. Just one big map you could completely get lost in. I hope the areas are huge and no so linear like all the planets in SWTOR.

I still favor a Chua with a hamster-ball mount... it's going to be rough for me playing Exiles, lol.

I think I will be playing an Aurin so the hoverboard is a definite favourite but I want some sort of earthy looking mount.

Wow, that narrator in the mount video was really irritating I had to stop watching.

The hoverboard is nifty. I thought it was a bit gimmicky when I heard about it but I may end up with it. Especially the double jump and the water speed feature. That was useful information.

The lizard one is pretty nifty too.
