Hey all. After reading your recruitment post on the Wildstar Roleplay I was immediately attracted to the style and philosophy of the guild. It matches well with what I am looking for in a guild, and I am eager to get to know many of you once the game goes live. While I played in beta a bit, I have played mostly Dominion side, and only enough to know that it is a game I will enjoy playing. I have tried not to ruin the fun of discovering the lore and game for the first time once it goes live.
Please write an introduction to your character.
Constrain the subject please. Yes, I know it is squirming, that is typically what life-forms do when we attempt to constrain them. You do remember what happened to the last subject that we failed to properly constrain though, correct? Do you want to have to clean up brain matter and skull fragments when the Cortexual Scanning Device malfunctions again because of feedback from metal ear tags? No? I didn't think so. Besides, just because the subject is not sentient is not a justification for needless termination. We want to learn how they think, not how they die.
Include name, race, gender, profession, alignment.
Slogh, Mordesh Male, Medic, Scientist
If you have any crafting disciplines or have other talents, please include those as well.
Mental Processes Scientist. Technologist.
Do you have alternate characters on the same server?
I almost certainly will as I have a history of horrible altitis. The Engineer, Warrior, and Esper intrigue me as well as the Settler and Explorer (if I can figure out how to find the jumping points) paths
How did you hear of us?
The Wildstar Roleplay forums
Is there anyone you have got to know from the family, IC or OOC?
Not really. However, my interest in RP, general philosophy, and guild methods are very much aligned with the Saga family.
What types of games have you participated in? (include all types, such as pen/paper or MMORPGs, PC, Console, board games, card games.)[/color]
Oh wow, all of the above. But more specifically:
Pen/Paper: AD&D/D&D, Pathfinder, Shadowrun, World of Darkness, and a ton of others that have been more one-shot or short lived campaign oriented.
MMO: Everquest, City of Heroes, WoW, Rift, The Secret World, GW2, and a bunch of others more casually (LotRO, SWToR, Age of Conan, Asheron's Call 2)
PC/Console: Lots and lots of RPGs, alot of action/shooters, and many strategy games.
Board/Card Games: Magic the Gathering, Lord of the Rings CCG, and a bunch of others more casually. Alot of iPad board game conversions.
Currently however, I am fairly active in GW2 and a handful of more single-player PC, Console, and iPad games.
What other games are you interested in that Saga participates or is moving towards?
I am potentially interested in Saga's presence in GW2, though I am currently a member of another RP guild there. Thankfully, GW2 supports multi-guild memberships!
What aspects of gaming have you enjoyed in the past and/or looking forward to enjoying with Saga? Light raiding, dungeon delving, situational roleplay, story-writing, crafting, PvP, etc.
In the past I have been involved in all different types of roleplay, as well as leveling, dungeon delving, raiding, and light PvP. Currently I find myself more interested in situational roleplay, often while doing other things. Light/conversational roleplaying while in guild chat, during dungeon runs, or just taking the opportunity to play a character in different types of gameplay (ie questing, dungeons, pvp, raiding, etc) is where I find the most fun, and what I look forward to enjoying with Saga.
What are you looking for as a member of our guild?
A mature relaxed guild that appreciates multiple forms of gameplay and roleplaying. As an older gamer, I appreciate guilds that recognize that people have commitments and that as much as we all love playing, real life comes before the game.
I really enjoy RP guilds that allow a range of RP contribution, from heavy active RP, to IC guild chat, to forum RP. I don't always want to participate in heavy RP depending on what else is going on and what kind of energy I have. Having the flexibility to participate how I feel at the moment, and knowing that fellow guild members understand that, is very attractive.
Have you read and agree to our Guild Policies and Guidelines?
Yes!
Please answer the following three questions, IN CHARACTER:
Tell us of your past.
Slogh was smuggled off of Grismara fairly early in the Dominion quarantine. Placed on a predominantly Aurin ship, his sense of isolation at being placed amongst what he saw as a 'crew of optimistic, hyper squirrels' only deepened his depression. Over time however, as he came into contact with other Exile ships, he came to value the diversity of personalities, and looked to those differences as a potential key to a cure or salve for the Contagion.
Knowing how uncomfortable most feel around the Mordresh, Slogh began to research the different personalities and tendencies of different races. These studies have formed the foundation of a set of theories regarding Mordresh mental processes, and how those tendencies may influence their physical condition.
What hobbies and quests do you presently have?
A focus on understanding mental processes, tendencies, and interactions drives Slogh to constantly seek out and experience new creatures. Some hidden obscure creature could hold the key to isolating the Contagion mentally and intellectually eliminating the side effects.
Where do you see yourself in the future?
Why as the savior to the Mordresh people of course, creating a mental cure to the Contagion. Or.. as a lost and forgotten researcher on some backwater station studying the mental processing of miniature space slugs. The Mordresh 'optimism' is hard to overcome at times.

That is exactly what I have done. I have one Dominion side Spellslinger only to about level 22. Just enough to know I am going to love the game but not enough to ruin anything, especially since we will all be going Exile side.
Welcome welcome! Your character sounds interesting.
Welcome ! I love your character concept and your background in gaming sounds a lot like mine .
I look forward to many adventures with a Fellow scientist !
Welcome to the Saga guild!
Please be sure to read the posts stickied at the top of this forum and be sure you agree with the rules and charter. This guild has a history, as you will see. It is, well, a Saga.
Thank you for filling out the Roster Card. This procedure is for the others here who will not see you in Wildstar so they can get to know you.
Saga is also part of a multi-game guild formed when a few wandered off to try other games. Sister guilds have formed, and we all come here to check on each other. This multi-game guild is currently called SagaFamily. We are indeed a family.
As an Initiate, you should now have access to the private game related forums, such as questing and crafting disciplines.
If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to ask!
Welcome!

Howdy. Your character sounds interesting and his unease around some of the other Exiles could make for fun RP. Hopefully, will see you about in one of the betas :)
Thanks all! I look forward to sharing adventures with each of you.
Now if only I wasn't going to be out of town for all of Headstart and Week 1 of launch. *sigh*
Sucks, but at least if you pre-ordered you can get your names reserved for when you have time to start playing.
I look forward to playing with you when you get here and having you over to my house for tea! ( or lopp party )
