I built a Logo for a possible Dominion side guild. I tried to add elements that all of us could get behind. Maybe a Hit maybe a miss. Let me know.

Sungrazers are my favorite animal in-game. Hard for me to associate them with Dominion though- considering the Dominion quest where they have you do horrible medical experiments on those beautiful peaceful animals. (I had to skip the quest, I couldn't do it.) :(
You have excellent photoshop-y skills Forsetti! Use your powers for good and make one for Exile side. :D
I will say that one of the drawbacks of Wildstar for me is that 80% of the guild background and foreground elements are lame. I get that the game does not take itself too seriously, but.. Although when it comes to my personal bank guild I always make for extra storage, I plan on choosing something silly just for fun.

The foreground icon is more important. Only a few that don't look ridiculous or evil, I'm leaning toward either of these (ignore the tentacle background)

I would have fun making one for Saga but the Dominion was a safe one to start on. I was afraid of stepping on toes or upsetting some of the veterans by overstepping my station.
Here was my thinking on the Sungrazers. I identified the dominion with the Vigilant Church (which is very paladin/cleric/holy priest in nature) then I chose the Nexus beast that I thought most embodied those qualities. Sungrazers are practically made of light.
I must have missed that quest, I played through only 2 of the Dominion Pre-illium areas. Guess I got lucky. I know the Mordesh do a lot of those type of experiments.
I did not get a chance to look at any of the guild related systems in the Beta so the screens you posted are VERY interesting. Is there an option to add your own Jpeg instead or are you confined to what the game gives you?
If we were to do a logo we would need an icon that embodies Saga. Or whatever the full name of the guild ends up.
Was a name decided upon for a Dominion side guild? I know several people saved possible names so, I was wondering. I like the logo although like Elly, I'm not sure if it feels right although your reasoning is valid. What would make me more hesitant is that there is a guild that's part of the B.A.C.O.N. alliance that Saga is a part of and their name is Novastar Coalition. I suppose it wouldn't be a big deal but something to consider.
A logo used for RP reasons on forums and such can be anything people like. As far as I know the only choices available for what is displayed in game is the combination of a foreground and background (what I linked above).

I guess this is what I have been getting at in the "Good & Evil" thread. With deference to Elly & yourself I would submit that this is Exactly how Cassians see themselves, regal, noble, Majestic & filled with the light of the Eldan. In an RP environment this is the creature that a Cassian would choose to represent His or her self. Now this leaves the other races on the outskirts without having their natures represented in a direct way. This again is indicative of the Dominion & a spot on RP parallel.
Another point would be that hunting supply manufacturers, more often than not, use the image of their noble prey to represent the company.
Please don't think that this was a ploy to force this name on the community. I enjoy these projects & much of the Logos content can be altered or remade entirely. My intent here was to create an argument for this guild name & promote discourse on its validity & how it should be presented.
So we have to use the ones the game provides us or we can import a user created logo for Saga?

So In-Game we are stuck with the pre-rendered templates, that doesn't stop us from sporting something more original in forums & such.
Yea. But in game I turned off the guild logo because it was annoying. So whatever it is I don't mind because it will be off lol.

Oh, I didn't think that at all :smitten: If it weren't for the fact that I know people playing Exile I would have mained Dominion and my main character there would have been of a good alignment. But I am not so sure other people will give it as much thought as that when they see the logo. I guess that's kinda cynical since people identify with symbolism and metaphor. I just had a thought though. I do really the idea and think it would look really good as a coat of arms. Something like:

Most of that is easily done. I am not, however, good at drawing. It took some searching to find a drawing that could pass for a sungrazer. One with a similar pose to your coat of arms would be even more difficult to find.
I like everything but the NOVASTAR part. That just seems too garish... yes yes, I know, but it's not the right kind of garish. Cassian garishness has more class, more sophistication. ^^

I Loved the font of the "novastar" it was so spot on wildstar but it has been bugging me also. it just doesnt seem to blend with the rest. I cant decide if its the font or the color or the size. I will address the issue if we decide to use it. I'm thinking that the word "novastar" may be replaced by another if we are interacting with a guild in WildStar with that name.
One of th guilds in the bacon alliance is called the nova star coalition - will have to use a different name as a courtesy especially since they will probably have a dominion counterpart as well .

This was my thinking as well though I do like the nature of the word "Novastar" as it creates a duality within the word "Sungrazers". Not only are these people noble & filled with the light of the Elden, as the Nexus beast. They are also daring spacefarers who graze the sun.
As an aside the word "Novastar" was an idea from my SWTOR Legacy (Novaborn) which i've had since shortly after release. I didn't know about Novastar Coalition until Elsavette mentioned it earlier in this thread. Don't even get me started on the Internet's obsession with bacon........

Anything people make is cool by me since I have no creative abilities with Photoshop or any other such programs.
If anyone wants a stick man drawn though I am good for it.

Oh, I wasn't suggesting you draw the animal in the same style. Was more an impression of possibly putting an emblem around whatever image you desire. That seems very fitting for the Dominion. What program are you using for your graphics?

Ive been using Logo Maker 4. Drakvar & I were brainstorming last night & we did come up with an idea. A Tavern shingle & it could take the form of a sort of coat of arms as you suggested though we were thinking more in terms of Saga.
Hmm..I am not familiar with that software. Though you seem to be able to do quite a lot of things with it. I don't mean to get off topic but you might consider downloading Gimp to do graphic stuff in. It's free and quite good. Like all of these programs takes some messing around in to get familiar with it but there are tutorial vids one can find to help. If I was using strictly a free program that's probably what I would use. You seem a creative person and it would be great to see you do more things like the logo. ;)
