I hope launch and leveling is going well for everyone. I know I've been hard at work getting my main established and what not but I've also been itching to RP with other members in Saga. So, I've been kicking about the idea of a one time RP event. Nothing DM'd I have no doubt there are better people in the group to host such an event I was thinking along the lines of something more social. I was thinking it would be beneficial for those of us whose characters didn't travel on the ship to come together and establish a connection to Saga.
I won't assume many people follow any of the other Wildstar forums but there's a tavern night being hosted by an RP guild on Saturday. While some of us could meet up there I would prefer a more personal space where our characters can focus on getting to know one another. I attended a meet and greet event hosted by the same group on the last day of beta and was surprised by the large turnout. Those of you from GW2 probably know how problematic these large events get: it's difficult to keep up with RP as the event is really spammy; is often crashed by trolls which is just distracting; often are attended by people that go just to be seen with their cliques than to actually RP with the wider community.
All that said I was wondering if people are interested in something like our own tavern night perhaps at a bar/pub, cafe, entertainment spot, etc run by a character in the guild? Alternatively, some of us could attend this event on Saturday hosted by another guild.
I am working Friday to Sunday night so not sure if I will be able to attend that rp event unfortunately.

Whenever I'm on though and folks want to do an impromptu get together let me know. I'm always happy to take some time to do some in person rp when I can
Arcadia and I have to go to a convention this weekend and sell our goods to anime fans, so this weekend is a no go for us :'(. But otherwise I like the idea since Shaylene was from Gambler's Ruin. My only issue with a meet and greet is that we have to be sure to group up, so that way we can sync and make sure we are in the same instance.
Yeah that's true but it could mean we don't end up spamming the zone or just focus on party chat which would be great. Says carry for miles it seems.
Well player housing is always an option too in regards to a place to go. Of course that would mean that one of us would have to have a place that LOOKS like a meeting place. I'll have that in like a month maybe o_o.... depending on my artitect.

On the broader topic of using player housing for RP, that requires everyone who attends to be on the hosts neighbor list, does it not? Or is it that everyone would have to put the host on their neighbor list? Either way, I think that would leave out any characters who have not yet hit level 14.
If we are going to get together out in the world, I think Celestion might be the best choice, as I seem to encounter more groups doing RP in Algoroc. Plus the tavern pictured on the guild's main page looks like it would fit in there better. :brfm

I too thought to myself well, we could use our imaginations :P but I do have some architect stuff that might help you so whisper me when we are both next on.
As for a location I was honestly thinking on one of our plots. I was wondering if there is anyone in the group that will be using their plot as an IC RP hub for example: a bar, restaurant, dance hall what have you. Even if it's not perfection we could pretend just to get started. It had not occurred to me that the level requirement would be all that restrictive. I figured I was one of the slowest levelers in the group at the moment since I haven't played much and my char is going to be 15. I was thinking this event would be sometime next week at any rate so, hopefully that would be enough time for people to get at least one character to 14.
The only other matter is what day is best for everyone? During the week or on the weekend?
My schedule fluctuates to be honest - depending on work and also real life stuff ( family health issues etc ).
Like I said, pick a time and ill try to be there otherwise ill be up for impromptu rp. '
Im not really big for story arcs at the moment because I haven't fleshed out my character enough . But it all falls down to when I can play again and its hard to be consistent although if I do say I will be there, I tend to be there.
Im thinking of picking a theme and then letting my character organically grow .
Also remember BACON and WSRP channels are available to find rp as well .
Celeston by the way is an amazing hub and rp area.
Well I have been slowly designing my housing plot into a tavern/inn. Some time it will take for its full glory but for now it is a one room bar.
Well... from my boom box this morning I got a tiki bar decor. I totally used it without thinking of why Shaylene would have it at her place or how much it would sell for at the auction house.... so she has a bar ><. I put it on the second floor that I build in my ship. So that is a place to consider depending on if the lvls are a factor.... could even subsitute as a physical The Saga if I continue to spruce it up. I was orignally gonna turn the second floor into a training area/one person barracks, but I can always do that with the first floor and the outside.
But yeah, I can even build a tavern outside of her ship to count as something more physical as a hang out spot. I did just see something recently where someone took their plot of land and turned it into a forest that looked like Celestion. Again just thinking of posibilities and options since every option has pros and cons.
I am trying to build a "delivery service" business on my plot (think Planet Express ala Futurama). Not really the first place I'd think to go hang out but it will be open for all to enjoy nonetheless. I look forward to seeing how everyone's housing develops and how they'll use it for RP purposes. :)

Sorry, completely over looked your question. Yeah all it takes is for the person who has the plot to set people to neighbors and everyone can teleport to it from the land plot.
Oh, I think anything is fine right now and if people can't make it no worries since it will just be informal social RP for those of us that want to set away some time to RP and can make it. So, no sweating the small stuff.
Any volunteers for having a bunch of rag tag, gorgeous people on their plot/place of business, den of debauchery? Otherwise I can open up my plot and think of something.
And I would have put up a poll for what days are best but I can't seem to ???

Actually you can set your home to have public access.
In terms of when is a good time for me (and thereby Guts), we are usually on during weeknights around or after 9PM EST for a couple hours. Weekends are usually free unless we are doing a convention (2 this month but July we'll be pretty much free). Just let us know when and where to be and we'll try to make it!
One advantage of being a stay-at-home is that most nights (and practically all days) are fine for me. Wednesday and Saturday nights (where I am usuallyroleplaying with dice and pencils) are the exception (plus if it occurs during dinner time on other nights, my roleplay will be a bit sporadic as I shuttle to and from the kitchen).
Of course, I haven't run into anyone to even join the guild yet, and Bigby is the only soul on my friend list at the moment (and I'm not even out of Celestion yet), so I'm guessing one will naturally follow the other. ;D

I would love to join any planned Get-Together. I've been away from the game for the past week at Phoenix Comicon (Arcadia/Guts - was that the con y'all were at? We should have gotten together for lunch!) and am just itching to get back and enjoy some role-play and socialization (and questing...must do questy-quests).
Howdy folks. Been a bit busy these past few days and haven't had much time for Wildstar but I do want to get to planning this event for some time next week. I would like to do it before the BACON event in the next couple of weeks. So, now that a few days have passed is there anyone interested in hosting it on their plots as part of an IC hub for the single event? Speak now or forever hold your...
That and I am thinking about doing it on Wednesday or Thursday. Will during the week work for most people?

I have been on vacation these past few weeks so I have been online a LOT. However, come Thursday I am back to work and working evenings for a week so I am not going to be online much until days off after that.
So, alas, I will not be able to attend any RP events this weekend :(
Well then we should do this Wednesday, that is to say TOMORROW, so Tecta can join us for RP. We can pick a housing plot from among whoever shows up and go from there.
Guts & I should be good for this evening or tomorrow evening. Just give us a ballpark time- we're EST. My plot is rather ramshackle and underdeveloped for a meeting area but I'd be happy to lend it.
Depending on what sorta area we want, Shaylene's ship also works as a bar (got a tiki bar, bar stools, beer mugs and the like on the second floor) and could work as a make shift bar for The Saga. I wouldn't offer it as a perm solution down the road since I have no clue what exactly I wanna do with her place, but right now it's available.
Sorry, I wasn't about to respond about this happening some time this week. Recently, work is being done on the house I am staying in as the owner means to sell it so, that means finding a new home. Last night I was out looking at some potential properties so, my apologies. I may take up your offer Guts on using your plot. I am going to be logging on here in a bit and seeing if I have the monies to put up a temp social area on mine. Will let you know O0
We now have a location set for the event. I am working on a little poster for it right now and all we need is to decide on the date. Ashford has offered his place that has a little outside area that can be used which is walled off from the rest of his plot to keep with immersion. Please contact Ashford (in game name is Ashford) if you wish to attend so that he can make you a neighbour.
I really like your place Guts and if this event goes well, would love to use it perhaps for another one?

Aww... :'( Yeah, going by the responses on the thread it is the 18th in an effort to get accommodate the most people. But with some of the impressive housing plots done by others in the group I think it's safe to say we can have another event soon! Such an exciting prospect!
