Hey guys, I wanted to bring something to everyone's attention because I actually got to witness it first hand this morning... On reddit people have been going nuts about being in lvl 50 zones and running to a gathering node and suddenly a lvl 11 or some other low level appears out of no where, steals the node, then vanishes. It's a huge problem that's currently occuring and I saw it in Algroc this morning (a damn lvl 7-15 zone). Carbine said they are trying to find a work around and for others to report these people, so please do so if you see it in action. Also other botting type behavior are things like people doing this teleportation hack with PvE mob killing for powerleveling/farming and in PvP where they either do the teleportation trick or just make the character run back and forth to seem more alive.
How I see it - "Buy gold for cash from us or let us power level you to 50 in 1 day! Ignore the fact that by doing this, we are making the game much harder and frustating for normal players... but why do you care! You're rich and powerful now thanks to us!" I swear it sounds like something Protostar would say.
I apologize if this post sounds aggressive... I just hate this sort of thing and thought everyone should be aware of it so when you see it, you know what it is (and not mistake it for lag or something) :knuppel2:.
The bots have been happening since day one. What hasn't helped is that they didn't already have the proper tools in place to deal with it hell, it's still a pain to simply report them but I have been doing my best since launch. And they have taken steps with the substantial bans that have taken place over the last couple of days. I believe their priority has been on the afk bots in PvP. That's been pretty outrageous and by the sounds of it these types of bots and hacks become more aggressive as time passes.
As a casual player it can be detrimental to my play so, perhaps it becomes harder to simply ignore it as a fact of MMOs. I suppose all we can do is encourage people to never stop reporting because it does make a difference.
I always report this kinda stuff. This is really annoying especially as a crafter. I'm pretty sure carbine will lay down the law soon since they have started moving on pvp afk bots last Friday and fully expect this to be handled within a short while.

I oddly have not witnessed this yet. I did read the release about a mass banning though. Good.
