Yeah this. I have backed both games, with the idea in mind that as long as one of them is a winner, I will be happy.
The only way we can hose this up is by splitting ourselves down the middle if both end up being solid games. :cow
I backed ashes mostly because it's an alt's dream- with multiclassing available and the secondary class can be swapped off if you don't like your initial combo (I can finally make my rogue/cleric combo- Kyri can finally be the official priestess of lord platinum she always claimed she was!). been keeping an eye on both though. League of Shadows at least early on has had some interest in pantheon also.
still waiting to here more details though on both as it's still in the early stages

From a development philosophy, I find myself leaning a little more toward Ashes at the moment, but it's still super early days for both of these titles, so it could still go either way as more and more information is released.
I'll probably only have time enough to invest in one title to get a meaningful experience out of either, so my initial choice will end up being "as Saga goes, so too shall I."
We've seen more of Pantheon.
Rise seems to have some interesting ideas. But they've gone quiet, though I know they are around still.
I'm guessing there will be some more info after this weekend's PAX Prime event.
Pantheon seems like EQ 3.0, spiritual successor to EQ.
Rise seems more like what EQNext wanted to be, minus the voxeling.
So, I'm leaning towards Pantheon, but I may not have the time for it, as I don't have EQ time anymore as a real adult.

Ashes of Creation has a really interesting class/sub class system.
Pantheon has Halflings AND Gnomes! So that is awesome.
