Welcome to Saga guild!

Please be sure to read the posts stickied at the top of this forum and be sure you agree with the rules and charter. This guild has a history, as you will see. It is, well, a Saga.

Saga is also part of a multi-game guild formed when a few wandered off to try other games. Sister guilds have formed, and we all come here to check on each other. This multi-game guild is currently called SagaFamily. We are indeed a family.

To become part of that, please take the time to fill out the attached roster card and post it to this message. This procedure is for the others here who will not see you in TOR so they can get to know you. You do not have to fill the roster card out to be part of Saga in-game. You can do it now or in the future. You can fill one out even if you do not wish to join the larger family. There is no pressure, and no rush. Take your time and look around.

Just a reminder: After your board rank is changed to recruit, you will be granted access to the private game related forums, such as questing and crew skills.

Roster Card for Saga.

An introduction...hmmm.  Where to begin?  I could say, "A long time ago in a galaxy far, far away," but that seems too obvious, right?

How about, "To boldly go where..." No.  That just doesn't fit either.

Introductions should start with a name. And by that I don't mean a hostile, "You give me yours, Horse Lord, and I'll give you mine" stuff.  I mean a pleasant hello.

My character's name is Talvarien.  I've carried that name through eons of time.  Talvarien was born in the early days of Everquest and has always been a rather good fellow.  A ranger then, his path was always to do right by the world.  Years later saw the name re-emerge in the World of Warcraft as a Night-Elf hunter.

Today Talvarien is a human male who has evolved into a Jedi Consular with a particular interest in the shadow techniques know only to a select few.  His training has taken him down a path that specializes in raining damage down upon opponents.

As with all iterations of Talvarien, this one also follows the path of light, and forgoes the flirt of darkness, though the taste is sometimes there.

My crew is a well-rounded group of healers, tanks and even a persnickety robot.  We have focused on artifice, archeology and treasure hunting.

And now for something completely different...

1.    Alts?  No—not yet.

2.   Hear of you?  Through google research on Sanctum guilds.  Of all the ones I read about yours seemed the best fit for my play style, age and life.  I am not a power gamer.  I'm not an end-gamer.  I'm a 42 married man with a child who can't devote every waking moment to video games, no matter how cool they are.


3.   Know anyone?  Not yet.  I just joined the /ooc and /saga channels Wednesday, and from that came a private conversation with Grimaldo regarding my opportunity for "recruit" status.

4.   RP?  I have played on RP servers in WoW, but I've never been what you'd call an active RPer.  I do however, appreciate the gaming style, which is why I've been in RP guilds before.  As long as I have an /ooc channel to unleash my vast amounts of crazy, I'm all good.  I also enjoy a good read, so I love the stories and the people who can bring that to life in-game.

5.   Looking for?  I'm looking for the cliché.  I want a family-style guild where power-leveling and PWNing aren't important;  where a guild event can be a raid, or just a cut loose in a cantina.

6.   Read?  Yes, I've read the policies and they are quite in-line with previous guilds I've been in through EQ and WoW.

Ahh, breathless.  Quite the run-on, eh?  And now you want me in character??? Like, OMG, um, er, yeah!  Ok.

THE PAST

Unfortunately, there isn't much to tell—at least not that I can remember.  My earliest memories are of working with other children that showed force potential, but I was older than most.  Luckily, I was strong, and wasn't held back by my advanced age.

Yuon, my master, has tried to delve into my past and believes I may have been part of a child slavery ring.  Quite possibly the memory has been suppressed beyond reach by either abuse, drugs, or both—we aren't sure.  What I am sure of is that I carry this hatred of slavery that borders on maniacal and have a continual struggle to not slip too far into a savagery when confronting slavers.

THE HOBBIES

Though I certainly enjoy a good fight, ship-to-ship or warrior-to-warrior, I also love discoveries of the past and have spent hours looking for lost artifacts and such with my crew.   I also find it quite relaxing to sit and work with gems, artifacts, etc and find new ways to combine them to make quite interesting modifications to my weapons.

My current directive from the Jedi counsel has me on Tatooine working with, of all things, Jawas!!  The counsel isn't to be questioned, of course, but this has been an interesting search.  There are rumors of slavers here, however, so I may have a side objective or two of my own...

THE FUTURE

My path is not to seek glory, but to be a part of the greater good of our universe.  That being said, I would like to continue my journeys as part of the Jedi Counsel, and work to rid the universe of Sith filth and other threats to peaceful civilizations.
