Wow a simple to play and pick up and play experience to boot.

I may get folks to actually play some dnd. Ill have to sneak it in between risk and monopoly.

I've seen these in real life at PAX east.
They are amazing.
And my wife says, "Well we have to have a dining room table anyway. Might as well be this one."

My wife is not a big con-goer, but she got a ticket to Emerald City Comic-Con, and one thing she insisted we do (had to twist my arm, she did!) was visit Geek Chic at the marketplace to see some of the tables.

I wonder how long the games go.
Friends and I played Talisman recently. We stumbled a bit picking up the rules - 'cause my friends apparently can't read - but got the hang of it. It was a bit like monopoly, though, we actually had to stop because it got dark and we couldn't see the board (we played outside during the day).

While fun, long games like that are hard to play often because of the time investment ... Says the guy who spent almost a full 72 hours on GW2. Curse you, need for sleep.

Dungeon! is a much simpler game.
Maybe 2 hours.

But it's simple. Ages 8+, but I know 5 year olds that could play it.

Buy Dungeon! when it comes out. You'll thank me.
It's a simple easy way to get your Non-D&D friends to play D&D.

And Talisman is great too. We have 3 expansions.
And since it takes so long to play, the Geek Chic table is great, because if you didn't know, you can put the table top back on OVER the game recessed below.

Though shipping to Down Under might be a bit of an issue.
Especially since you apparently don't have electricity.

Haha. There's electricity now. We hooked up some emus to the generator. They're like giant bird-hamsters running to generate power.

That table sounds really cool.

Definitely need to pick up the board game.

In a similar attempt to stock up on ways to convert potential grandchildren to D&D, I have this whole system:

It's kind of like LEGO D&D, with monster encounters that lead up to a boss fight.
