At the comic con panel yesterday, they revealed they had gotten an additional 26 episode order for korra ! So in addition to season 1 - book : air - and season 2 - book: spirit , there will be 2 more seasons of 13 episodes each!

Hip hip hooray! This series turned out to be amazing so far and they are doing wondrous jobs with the last airbender universe!

For those who are not sure of what is being blabbed about - legend of korra is a series ( cartoon ) that takes place 50 years after the original Avatar: the last Airbender series ( 3 seasons ) .

Great news!  I really enjoyed Korra S1 a lot and look forward to more installments!

Talon

I enjoyed Korra too and I'm keen to see where they take the series. Friends and I were wondering is Spirit would be a book. Neat!

And even more seasons, wow!

I don't like anime much.
Nor do I like blue aliens.
I do like My Little Ponies.
Would I like The Last Airbender?
The opinions expressed here are my own and I have my wife's permission to say so.

I was informed rather vehemently by anime loving friends that Airbender is not anime. It has the same art style because it's drawn in Korea or something but it's an American series.

The plus side is that it has a plot and follows it in a sequence and on a schedule rather than two years of filler (Naruto, apparently).

Pinky, if you don't like the Avatar-The Last Airbender series, (Korra also, as the sequel series), I will treat you to pie.

SWTOR - Buck Dharma
EQ on FV - Beren Fellhand
EQ2 - Oozag, Tavi, Hamhock, others.
Vanguard - Fenris, Grishnak
Horizons - Belail
Rift - Dominic Thorne
EQ Phinigel - Kiran, Trajak

It sounds like a win-win proposition for me.
But I don't like anime style art...so we'll see.

The story is what hooked me on to it and the premise of the world.

Also the style is less anime than teen titans.

I would totally be a water bender.

I'm not a great fan of the art either but it has grown on me. The story and the mythos grabbed me. At first I found it very kiddie but it eventually matures a bit as the kids do.

Korra is a much more mature audience with darker themes. But it still maintains the goofy comedic aspect that could keep kids interested (but that I feel cheapens it a bit, looking at you, Bo-Lin).

You could run a parallel between Avatar/Korra and Guild Wars 1 & 2. The latter being set later and having technology evolved. It is very 1930's-to-50's and a little steam-punk.

Awww... no love for Bolin?  I thought he was a good lighthearted offset to his brother Mako's broody ways, at least setting up a decent--if not a bit cliche--dynamic for a pair of siblings growing up on their own in the Pro-Bending circuit.  (Aside: I was totally shocked that the Mako character is voiced by the former child star who played Bud Bundy of Married with Children fame!)

Truth be told, I actually felt the same way about Meelo at first for being some goofy mini-Aang caricature, but the damn kid is irresistable.  Bah!

Talon

Bolin does offset his brother well but it is a little too far on the side of silly sometimes. Sokka used to annoy me on occasion for that reason too.

Meelo is the bane of my existence. Resistable he is. Mmm.

Wow didn't realise that. Kinda neat.

I thought the (spoilers) certain father and child relationship was an interesting dynamic too but it wasn't fully explored.
