Name: Cata V
Guild: Saga, EQ1
Profession: dread gnome pirate; formerly wizard, retrained as an enchanter
Race: gnome
Gender: female
Alignment: chaotic good
Deity: solusek ro

Description:

A short gnome with a bright red robe and even more fiery red hair.  Green eyes sparkle mischeviously and a ready smile dances across her lips.  More often than not, a smudge of grease marrs her complexion.

History:

Cata V, a fiery redheaded wizard, was born to a respectable family in Ak'Anon.  An early romance with Badeb, a gnome employed in Sanfyrd's scrap yards, led to an unexpected pregnancy and marriage, which was unfortunately ended amicably when the child died unborn due to the hardships of a shipwreck in the icy waters of Velious.  Cata and Badeb were rescued by gnomish pirates led by Captain Maladominus, and in exchange for that rescue, agreed to serve a term (20 years) with the gnomish pirate fleet.  Aboard the Scurvy Rat, Badeb discovered his skill with a dagger, and Cata continued her studies of magic.  By the time their term of indentured service was over, both had come to enjoy the pirate life, and often sailed with the pirates thereafter.

Much later in life, Cata did have a second child, who was raised mainly by her grandparents, Cata's parents, as the pirate life was dangerous for an infant.  Cata's parents, a conservative family, disapproved greatly of the wild life their daughter led, and Cata's daughter grew up to disapprove also.  She married a local gnome and set up a home with him in Steamfont, ignoring her mother's wild escapades as much as possible and seeing her only when she returned home to celebrate Tinkerfest.  With the Rallosian war and the Shattering causing chaos in the continent of Faydwer, however, Cata and her daughter, and now granddaughter, were once again reunited.  (See Rosebud's entry.)
