The obligatory Harry Potter thread (Spoiler warning)

Here's another thing that hit me that makes no sense whatsoever....

The sorting hat had the Griffyndor sword, right?  Um....when did it get there?  When did the goblin who took it return it to Hogwart's?  Didn't the trio give the goblin the sword in return for helping them break into Gringott's?  I mean, I may have missed that point but I have no idea how the sword went from the goblin into the sorting hat.

What happened to Luna?  She was one of my favorites... I guess the obvious would have been that she married Neville and continued to publish her dad's newspaper...  But she could have also ended up with Dean Thomas...  It sucks that we never heard if Teddy Lupin was a werewolf or not...  Yes, he had his mother's magic traits (hair color changing) but we didn't know if he also had the werewolf skills.  Or can you only inherit one parent's magical attributes? 

And who is the new headmaster at Hogwart's?  Is it Professor McGonnagal? Probably not, she was pretty old so probably dead...

Well the sword of Griffyndor to me came to Neville in the sorting hat the same way it came to Harry in the Chamber of Secrets. Even if the sword went back to the goblins i figured it is still tied magically to the school so it could still come to one who is in need of it. or however it was explained in the CoS. i mean it had to come from somwehere else when harry drew it out so i don't think it mattered where the sword was at if a Griffyndor was in need of it.

why they needed to have it come from the hat to begin with though... <shrugs>
