As some know I'm in US Air Force and currently stationed in Germany. Well that tour is just about over and I'll be heading back to the States in a few more days. Offutt AFB, NE this go round, just outside Omaha, NE is where I'll finish up my four years.

What all of that means is I get to take apart my computer this weekend and not see it for nearly a month.  :buck2:
I'm bound to be :uglystupid2: after about a two weeks, but it will make getting back that much sweeter.

Also, I'm not sure if I'll be back before the expansion is released so I'll slip another ten platinum into the guild bank to go with the fifteen I dropped in the other day when I snatched out some rares for Miora. ;) I'm expecting a nice looking guild hall when I get back!

Have a smooth move my friend!

I didn't realize you were that active in EQ2 again also eh? Silly me...One of the best things in EQ-2 was the Sunday AM "rat patrol". Was my only real chance to group up with the lightie Saga folks, since we had the Lux gang as evils in "Avidus Aeternam". Had we ever been able to do a guild war thing as was originally hoped for...that would have been really cool. Is EQ-2 less frantic now? (The pace of clicking in EQ-2 compared to old EQ was a turn off to amyself and  number of folks as I recall, but some liked it. Made me feel liek I could never chatter much shile hunting as I had no time between ongoing flurries of button pressing.)

I've been playing EQ2 again for about a year now all by my lonesome. ;D Only recently did I stumble upon SAGA again in game and actually start grouping once more. The last week or so I've been mentoring quite a bit and grouping, and I find things much improved from launch.

As I'm playing a guardian *again* it's easier to set the overall group pace. If I want to chat it up and slow down some I just taunt a few times and hack away on auto-attack. Or I'm feeling frisky I'll mash CA's left and right to mow through trash. Critters don't seem to chew me up as fast as they did at launch several years ago either. Maybe that's from expansion improvements, my own AA skills, or something else. Not to mention with mentoring and completely locking out combat experience the overall game slows down.

Not sure how it was when you drifted away, but the thousands of lower tier fetch/kill/deliver quests have been trimmed way down and most quests in a given zone all tie together neatly now. Plus with the expansions there have been some big storyline/epic quests not to mention the individual epics for each class added in.

I'm sure if you or any other Lux folks wanted to come back for a bit and try the Qeynos side out you'd be welcomed. :)

There is still a lbit of button pushing, but it is not as bad as it was when the game released.  Now most of the buffs are group and depending on what class you play, the button pushing can be a lot to not that much.  Tank classes are the worst as needing constant feedback followed by healers then dps can be more relaxed without killing the group in harder fights.  The sorerers and mage/Necros are probably the easier ones to play casually. Rangers and other melee dps can basically hit attack and sit back during the fights as long as you are not in a pickup group that spitting out parsers....The power bar can also show if you are not using specials but again most do not complain unless you are in a pickup group with a bunch of Raiders/Power grinders,

Comparing this game to Age of Conan where you feel you are playing a FPS, it is very relaxed.  Bahladar with his Adept 3 in taunts /Agro abilities can talk quite a bit while fighting and do fine in EQ2. Age of Conan, you got click for your life!!  The fights are pretty quick as well so you can talk between fights and with the instances, you can take your time with the guild.  Most of the instances, there is no respawn or is very slow so it allows for the breaks if needed.

The good/neutral characters (class restrictions do apply) of any returning Lux members, would, of course, be welcome in Saga.

I have characters in all three class types, four if you separate casters and other dps classes.  I find the heaviest button pushing, lack of time for other things class to be my Fury, with the healing.  My only other healer is a baby, so I don't know if it's healing in general.  Then my tank classes are next but, as Bahl says, only because I invest in my taunts.  The dpsers are the most laid back to play because you really only have to worry about pacing your damage.  Auto attack is a newly appreciated feature after AoC because your character does not just sit there getting pounded if you chat a bit in guild.

Finally, we will miss you Kelora!

To Corsair:

I don't really play a fighter class with any regularity, but I do love the other of the classes I play.  I rather liked the game at launch, but I like it even more now in many respects.

Still fairly fast paced, in some cases there are even more buttons to choose from.  Some effects have been consolidated.  Some tedium is gone.  A lot more opportunity for indivuduality in developing your character.  And there's ALWAYS something fun to do outside of combat.

I do keep my combat xp turned off a lot more though because the pace of advancement is just faster than what I would like for experiencing content in a meaningful (to me) way... yet if I want a character to advance faster that option is readily available to me.

I don't know if anyone else has ever experienced this, but for some reason, the UI design in EQ2 has made it easier for me to chat than in other games, which sort of makes up for the fast pacedness.

Also, there's a guard dog in Graystone Yard named Fenris, and I can't help but be reminded of one of my favorite Vulmane  ;D

To Kelora:

Have a safe & as complication-free of a move as possible!  We'll look forward to your return.

He's a naughty dog!  He always growls at Mabb and barks at Dulcette!

Thanks Jasyn!

Yeah, I loved Fenris...and Grishnak too! Maybe another game will come along in which I will get to more fully enjoy one or both of them eh? I really thought there were some cool characters in VG, just as there are in EQ2 right now, that I am not getting to enjoy the company of as I would like.

Darn you time !!!     :tickedoff:
