Welcome to Saga guild!

Please be sure to read the posts stickied at the top of this forum and be sure you agree with the rules and charter. This guild has a history, as you will see. It is, well, a Saga. 

Saga is also part of a multi-game guild formed when a few wandered off to try other games. Sister guilds are forming, and we all come here to check on each other. This multi-game guild is currently called SagaFamily. We are indeed a family.

To become part of that, please take the time to fill out the attached roster card and post it to this message. This procedure is for the others here who will not see you in EQ2 so they can get to know you. You do not have to fill the roster card out to be part of Saga in-game. You can do it now or in the future. You can fill one out even if you do not wish to join the larger family. There is no pressure, and no rush. Take your time and look around.

Just a reminder: after your first post you will be granted access to the private game related forums, such as questing and tradeskills.

Greetings, Saga!  Thank you for letting me sneak in!  Here's my roster card.  Sorry if it gets a little wordy.  Give me free space, and I'll talk...and talk...and...well, anyway:

My name is Solerei Pathskipper, female Ayr'dal monk (in training) and sometime provisioner.  I'm supposed to be studying the Path of Balance to serve Tunare.  "Supposed to be" is the key phrase there.  Good at heart, a bit misguided in delivery.

Do you have alternate characters (freeport or qeynos) on the same server?

Nope. This is the only active char I have.

How did you hear of us?

I noticed your listing on the in-game recruiting board, and I went to explore your website. 

Is there anyone you have gotten to know from our family, IC or OOC?

I had a wonderful time hunting with Lyrima, Guthric, and Fritter.  I've also shared the odd drink and wayyyy to many woohoos on channel with Boudeccai, Bahladar, Caladril, Jasyn, Gneen, and...and... *gets dizzy*.  And there's a troll...

What Roleplay games have you participated in?

Rrrm...at the risk of dating myself...the last games I really roleplayed in online were MOOs and MUSHs...a long time ago.  A really long time ago.   I played SWG, with light roleplay, for a year or so, and I was a first-day adopted on EQ2, though not on this server, not with roleplay, and with a char I don't play anymore =) 

What are you looking for as a member of our guild?

I'm hoping to find a relaxing but fun locale where I can enjoy lighthearted, and sometimes more organized, roleplay; friends to hunt with (and stop the bleeding...I do that a lot); a little guidance on fitting into the roleplay world of EQ2; drinks; shiny things; er...wait, okay, I'm getting distracted.

What past?  That implies there was something interesting in it.  Hah! If there had been, would I be here in this city, chasing rats down alleys for spare change while I try to find something more...well, just more!

Alright, if you have to know...I grew up in a little broomcorn farming town at the edge of the Steppes.  Mum and Pops were loving, good role models, neat, efficient...drove me right out of my mind.  No one seemed to mind that Pops had pointy ears.  Long story there...he was a broom salesman...fourteenth child in a brood of fourteen (poor grandma, you can hardly blame her for being bitter!)...he came to town to sell brooms.  To broomcorn growers.  He met Mum, and he kept coming back...for six seasons!...still trying to sell her a broom.  She wasn't the quickest study regarding men, but she finally realized that he had actually twigged in after the first trip that there were no brooms to be sold.  She married him the next visit.  Who wouldn't have? He's rather charming, my Pops.  Right, what were we talking about?

So, I came into the picture some seasons later.  Pops had great ambitions for me, being from the city, and thinking that, there being only one of me, perhaps I could make something better of myself than he'd managed (though I think he did rather well, all things considered).  He and Mum were considering what academy to send me to when the local constable brought me back home one night (well, it was actually 47 nights, and well-scattered through my early years) from the tavern, where I aught not to have been...but where I had been, and had again, it seems, gotten into a bit of a fuss with a sharp object and a pesty patron.  Mum had had enough and laid down the law.  I needed discipline, balance, and above all, nothing sharp!  They shipped me off to the Masters at the nearest monkish retreat the next morning. 

I will say, I studied.  I enjoyed the reading, and I reallllly enjoyed the bits where I got to kick things about.  But it was so -quiet-!!  I tried to liven things up, but that wasn't a popular choice with the instructors.  They kept counseling me to find a peaceful, non-violent, balanced, -quiet- (yes, Solerei, quiet!) place in myself.  I tried, honestly, I did!  They just kept retiring (early) before I could get the hang of it.  Some of them went on trips as well.  Somewhere quiet, they said...or, rather, the other teachers said.  Mostly they just weren't there in the morning after a lesson. 

Anyhow, where was I?  Yes, I was in the middle of nowhere!  I was...I know it's not clearly monkish, but I was desperately bored.  So, I've taken a leave from the academy, myself, to come to the City (Pops always pronounced it with a capital 'C') to experience the world, so I know what I'm supposed to be avoiding!  I didn't, precisely, tell them I was leaving...so, if anyone stops by and asks...well, you haven't heard of me, neh?

What hobbies and directives do you presently have?

You find a hobby, I'll try it!  I'm exploring, mostly on the dime of the City guard and the various (apparently understaffed) academies, doing odd cleanup jobs in faraway places.  I do a bit of cooking in my spare time...but I keep getting distracted...there's so much to see! 

Where do you see yourself in the future?

Wherever I can get to without getting tossed out, stepped on, or eaten (yes, I've heard about the trolls).  The problem isn't where I'll be, it's how long I can manage to stay in one place...hey, look at that!  *running feet*
