They've also revamped a lot of the classes and stuff too.

Exciting!

Excellent! That (may) mean that the game could show up as early as March! I hope they've solved whatever became such a stumbling block. I'll also keep an eye on my inbox, would be fun to get into the beta.  :)

Rumze

They'll be sending out surveys to folks so keep an eye on those.

Ive been following eqn closely and it seems like while eqnl may come out this winter or next spring, eqn itself may take a couple of years.

So Ive decided that Im going to be happily playing wildstar until then with eqnl.

Ethawn, Bael and I will be there too! I agree that there may be a lot more time to kill before EQN than people think.

Looking forward to the revamped class reveals starting next week (I think). I miss the tasty videos they used to do for Wildstar Wednesday, looks like they are starting that back up.

What's the pay model for Wildstar? I know some one said it's not free-to-play, but is it buy-to-play, or subscription?

I'll probably try to get in on the beta to see what everyone's going so crazy over. I know very little about the game besides the bits explained in mumble last night and I remember seeing it has very cartoon-like graphics.

Elly

I think what people get stuck on is that the environment graphics are highly stylized. I think given the mood of the game it's pretty appropriate.

The character models are pretty darn similar to Everquest Next.

It's not about making things hyperrealistic. It's about fun and exploration. The pathing system, player housing. Lots of unique features, like going fishing and you have an equal chance of pulling out a fish, or a sea monster trying to kill you. Love the whole wild west/firefly/sci fi thing.

Sorry if it seemed like I meant "cartoon-like graphics" in a negative way, I didn't mean it to sound bad. I'm very neutral about the graphics; I don't mind the look really, it's just not my thing.

Elly

Oh I know Sroth :)   I think the game has a really unique viewpoint. I hope people don't discount it out of hand due to the different style of graphics.

It's a looooong way off till EQN. Try new things!  :D

Wildstars payment model is like eve onlines.
You buy it, and you pay for a sub or you can trade ingame gold for an item that other players have bought for real life cash and are selling ingame on the auction house.

Bah. Well, at least the beta is free.

Ok so I remember putting my email and info in for Wildstar Beta a long while back. Thought I was still on their list. But I just clicked on the link again and it took me to a create an NCSoft account page to sigh up for Beta. So apparently my previous application using just my email is gone and I now need an NCSoft account. So now I am registered for Beta but minus the months of being in a queue I thought I had previously ... :(

So get in there and register again if you are in the same boat as I am and you thought you already were registered.

Yup, definitely have a beta app confirmation email from February here ... ah well. Hopefully December will see a lot of people get in. I just want to see the character creation screen and make a few peeps and spend 1hr in game seeing how it feels and then I am good.
