A Small Newcommer 6/29/02

Elyta
Outside, Karana is once again "blessing' Norrath with a downpour. The door to the tavern creaks open, and the small figure of a gnome enters. Her red hair is plastered to her head by rain, and her dark robe, any bright colouring having been temporarily dulled by the soaking, drips water onto the tavern floor

With a nervous glance around, the gnome walks up to the bar, and tries to peer over it. After looking around for something to stand on, the newcommer mutters a few words under her breath. Her image, and the air around her, shimmers briefly. The small gnome is replaced by a high elf, one tall enough to see over the bar without difficulty.

Um...Excuse me, is th... she begins, in Gnomish, then blushes

Oh sorry, she says, clearing her throat and switching to the Human tongue is this the Saga Tavern? I was told I would be able to meet a friend here, his name is Fayd. He said I might be able to meet some of his friends here.

After ordering a drink, the elf looks around and settles in a quiet corner, her image shifting back to that of a gnome.

Fayd, ye say? Aye, Fayd should be around here somewhere, passed out I'll warrant...

/em starts looking under tables for Fayd.

Katryna Sowdier
Katryna watches the gnome with amusement and a rare smile appears on her face. As she watched the gnome turn herself into a high elf she became impressed with her resourcefulness.

From where she sat at her table she heard Fayd's name mentioned then Jebbar's response.

Kat looked towards where the gnome had sat and said in a voice just loud enough to be heard, "if ye be a friend of Fayds' then ye are more than welcome to sit at my table while you wait, I am Katryna and the one that was lookin under the tables for Fayd is Jebbar."

Fayd FV
Not long after the small visitor enters, the tavern door creaks open again and a white haired Koada'dal in blue-green plate armor quietly enters the room. He frowns slightly and examines the door, slowly moving it back and forth while the door makes the creaking noise several times. He reaches into his backpack and pulls out a small vial of grease and applies a tiny amount to the hinges, again moving the door until the creaking noise abates. With a nod to himself he shuts the door and for the first time looks around the tavern hall.

Fayd smiles as he sees two of his good friends in the tavern. His smile brightens further when his eyes find the visitor and he begins walking over to the table where the three are sitting. He hugs Katryna quietly and briefly watches Jebbar examine the floor around under tables. Fayd grins and says to the monk with mock seriousness "Did you accidentally lose your Idol of Zan Fi again Jebbar? *sigh* You really need to take better care with your silly trinkets."

Fayd seats himself next to Elyta at the table just as his customary ale is placed before him. He smiles brightly at her. "Welcome to the tavern Elyta! I am so glad my directions were accurate enough to let you find the place." He hugs her and turns to address his other friends. "Elyta is a wonderful friend and an accomplished linguist in addition to being a fine illusionist."

*She opens the door slowly when she realizes that it no longer squeaks*
she mumbles something under her breath about Fayd being around
*She scans the room for her friends and notices Fayd and someone new sitting with Kat and Jebb*
FAYD!!! *she gives her dear friend her normal greeting and rushes to the table to hug them all*
Bartender Gnomish Spirits please. Hello all! so Fayd who is your new friend?

*she glances at the female elf and smiles, something is different about the newcomer but she can not quite place it*
