Welcome to Saga guild, Wilanthalas!

Please be sure to read the posts stickied at the top of this forum and be sure you agree with the rules and charter. This guild has a history, as you will see. It is, well, a Saga.

Saga is also part of a multi-game guild formed when a few wandered off to try other games. Sister guilds are forming, and we all come here to check on each other. This multi-game guild is currently called SagaFamily. We are indeed a family.

To become part of that, please take the time to fill out the attached roster card and post it to this message. This procedure is for the others here who will not see you in EQ2 so they can get to know you. You do not have to fill the roster card out to be part of Saga in-game although it is required to be granted Veteran status. You can do it now or in the future. You can fill one out even if you do not wish to join the larger family. There is no pressure, and no rush. Take your time and look around.

The roster card contains the option of doing a quest journal or not.  If you elect to do a quest journal, the Mistress/Master of Initiates will prepare a journal for you and place it in the Library within three days of posting the roster.  The quest requires that you interview at least three people who are of Member or better rank in game.  You will need to post their response and your reflections, if any, about the interview.  If you elect to do the quest journal, a majority vote of the leadership of the family at large is required to attain Veteran status.  If you elect not to do the quest journal, a unanimous vote of the leadership of the family at large is required to attain Veteran status.  The process to have your application for Veteran status will take a period of at least two weeks.

Just a reminder: after your first post you will be granted access to the private game related forums, such as questing and tradeskills.

If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to ask!

Welcome!

Jasyn (a.k.a. Wiffle)

Please consider me for the rank of Veteran in Saga with full on the board access and privileges!

Wilanthalas

<Wilanthalas Forestdeep puts down his heavy tome with a sigh.  He has striven for years to find his parents and reclaim his rightful place in New Tunare, but it seems his efforts have been in vain.  He remembers fondly the clan of woodelves that found him in the Forest as a babe, and took him in.  He thinks lovingly of his wife Shadzia, sleeping in the other room, whom he met and fell in love with through his new adopted family.  But other memories are not so fond....>
<With a scowl he remembers his youth, when he was the youngest high elf admited to the acadamy in Kelethin.  He trained in the magic arts under the guidance of the Fae, but he always tried to work around the rules and push himself harder and faster to find a way to magically summon his parents to him.  One evening, he tried a spell of conjuration through the veil of time itself, and attempted to summon his parents from the time they left him in the forest.  There was a mighty explosion, and half the academy was leveled, but he had been successful.....almost.  Instead of his parents he had summoned a dwarf from back before the rending.  Fortunately the dwarf had lost his combat abilities, or Wilanthalas would likely have been slain that very night..it seems the dwarf, Brinner Glitterspike, was not fond of being transported through time, and even less fond of spilling his ale in the process.   After this collosal mishap, the acadamy striped him of all his powers and set him loose in the city as an apprentice conjuror....barely able to call forth a bug!  Bah!>
<Still, all was not lost.>  I can start over again <he mutters over the heavy tome he had been studying..."Guilds of Norrath">  But one thing is certain...I will need help, and I think I know where to find it......Saga.
My studies have shown that this is a group of people dedicated to the causes of good in Norath.  They work together to accomplish their goals, and this is the thing I need most.  My biggest failure in the past, was trying to accomplish great and mighty tasks in solitude.  I can use my fledgling summoning abilities and minor alchemical skills to assist this group with other causes of good in the world, and perhaps find my parents again, and if not my parents....perhaps a family nevertheless.  <Wilanthalas smiles wistfully at the thought of a new family, and joins his loving wife in rest>

OOC:
Wilanthalas Forestdeep is a male, high-elf, conjuror and alchemist from Kelethin.  He is currently a bit miffed at the gods, but will certainly have a turning point when we will choose to follow the god of good that calls him the most. (undecided at the moment)

I have been a table top Dnd player for many years (since the blue box set, if anyone remembers that far back) and have played most computer role-playing games on and off since they've been making them.  I got hooked on EQ1 and eventually dragged my wife into the game where Brinner and Trystiana (our charcters) had quite a time on the Firiona Vie server....until EQ2 came out.

Since then our main characters, Petros (70 Pally, fledgling armorer) and Trystin (70 ranger, 66 woodworker)  have been here in EQ2 and eventually, they became active members (and eventually generals) in the Shadow Slayers guild.  It was a fine guild, but the guild leader needed to leave for personal reasons, and most of the rest of the guild, moved to Vanguard beta.  The remnants of the guild have begun to scatter, and we have felt also that it is time to move on.

We also have another set of characters that we begun playing when my RL brother and his wife started playing.  Falstaf (57 Troubador, 70 jeweler) and Kharisa (57 Wizard, fledgling scribe).

Brinner Glitterspike's descendant, Brindar Glitterspike is our resident cook (34 Templar, 70 Provisioner) and of course, Brinner Glitterspike himself has also just emerged as a fledgling Paladin in Kelethin after Wilanthalas' unfortunate accident.....

As Wilanthals has done in character, I have researched online in search of a goodly guild, with a long history, and a family atmosphere.  From everything we could see, Saga was an outstanding choice.  We have read and admired your rules and philosphies concerning roleplay, need before greed, and even your induction process was a big draw for us.  It is wise to get to know your members before fully inducting them, for the sake of the guild and also for the prospective member.
We have had the pleasure of grouping with Wiffle/Jasyn as well as Grimaldo, and Quince, and have spoken to several others in our short time here, and we look forward to meeting and playing with all of you.

My wife and I enjoy soloing, crafting, and duoing as well as grouping.  Our RL responsibilities (translated...kids)  keep us locked down at home alot, but also very busy.  We do have frequent emergency AFKs while we deal with one situation or another.  This really hinders our ability to work in pick up groups, but we hope that our family will understand if we fall into a coma every once in a while  (We try really hard to at least explain what's going on, and if neccessary drop group so the rest of the team can continue unhindered if neccessary.)  We do very little raiding, but enjoy questing..which often requires raids especially at higher levels.

Well, if anyone is still reading this after my lengthy dissertation, Congratulations!  and thanks for the ear!  I hope you will consider us, and possibly some of our alts, part of your family.
