Hello all. Everyone can call me Reborn but that might sound odd so I also go by DK which is not short for Donkey Kong but Digital Knight. Of course if it helps for you to think of it as Donkey Kong then that works as well. If you cannot already tell I enjoy being laid-back most of the time unless I'm gaming competitively then I can turn up the intensity.

MMO-wise I have played a lot of the popular MMOs like Guild Wars, EVE-Online, FFXI, WoW (briefly), Champions Online, City of Heroes, Ragnarok Online, Lineage 2 and a few others that are free-to-play and will not be mentioned. One of the things I love the most about MMORPGs is teamwork and group development. This is also why I probably enjoy maining the tank role in most MMOs and rolling into content with a well-rounded band of players. DPS is my second favorite role and I usually jump into it after my main has gotten to max level and is working on end-game stuff.

In the Star Wars area, I am a huge fan and have been since I was age 4. At one point I read every SW paperback that was out at the time -- this was when Showdown at Centerpoint was new -- and I still enjoy a SW book every now and then today. With that being said, Star Wars was my first fiction genre love and still holds a special place in my heart even today. I thoroughly enjoy most things Star Wars and I am heavily critical of the things I don't like about it, while being very praising of the things I really do enjoy.

Speaking of criticism I enjoy writing and have been role-playing for fourteen years now and have done just about every kind of character and many different genres. One of the things I enjoy most about writing is being able to develop a story and share it with others whether they are writing along or just reading and providing feedback. Writing is one of the ways I used to escape when I was younger and now I do it because I love the creative freedom that comes with developing your own character and sometimes your own world.

My good friend Kael Ocari brought my attention to the Saga guild and I am looking forward to meeting each one of you as well as playing in-game and getting some fantastic writing in.

Vilidius

Welcome!  Based on the depth of my exchange with Kael and the guild you were both trying to make (very much like Saga, I believe) I've approved you both on the TOR site ... or at least I think so.  If you are not JamalSol please let me know asap!  Because it would be a heck of a coincidence if you aren't but no one explicitly told me that you are.

I am definitely JamalSol. It was one of the names I was mulling around in my head before I decided not to go with it. Unfortunately, it stuck on the boards so I'm locked in to that username for the tOR site and boards for now.

Thank you for the welcome!

What they said.
I'm not much of a writer but I look forward to reading your epic tales.
They will be epic, right?
The opinions expressed here are my own and I have my wife's permission to say so.

Disclaimer: Many of the questions about character specifics can be filled in with more detail once SWTOR has launched.

Please write an introduction to your character, including name, race, gender, class, alignment, god(if any). If you tradeskill or have other talents, please include those as well.

  • Name: Tys Noma
  • Race: Human
  • Gender: Male
  • Class: Trooper | Vanguard
  • Talent Tree / Role: Shield Specialist / Tank
  • Crew Skills: Cybertech / Scavenging / Slicing

Do you have alternate characters (freeport/qeynos/etc.) (horde/alliance/etc.) on the same server?

Currently I do plan on having a Jedi Guardian and a Jedi Shadow at some point, but I will focus on Tys for a while -- most likely until he is level fifty. I will have the Guardian and Shadow rolled at launch to have their names secured, but will likely not play them for some time.

Jedi Guardian stats. Will roll it with the tank so I can have two to play at all times.

  • Name: Sol Noma
  • Race: Human
  • Gender: Male
  • Class: Jedi Knight | Guardian
  • Talent Tree / Role: Vigilance / DPS
  • Crew Skills: Synthweaving / Archaeology / Diplomacy

How did you hear of us?

I was planning on building a storyline based guild with my good friend Kael Ocari when he came across Saga and contacted Vilidius. After looking over Saga's history and a rather involved question and answer e-mail session between myself, Kael, and Vilidius, I decided Saga would be a wonderful place to roleplay and game with like-minded individuals.

Is there anyone you have gotten to know from our family, IC or OOC?

I was gone for a few months since initially joining Saga. I had to diligently work at some real life situations and did not keep much contact. Recently in November I have been more active and have gotten to know a few members over the course of the Beta Weekend for SWTOR. Raven, Cyrian, Val Gith, Rumze, Bjorn, Mixxi, and Time Lady have all either grouped with me at some point and talked with me on Mumble.

I have enjoyed the interaction so far and look forward to it at SWTOR's launch.

What Roleplay games have you participated in?

  • Lineage 2
  • World of Warcraft
  • Ragnarok Online
  • Guild Wars
  • Champions Online
  • Shadowrun
  • Exalted
  • Star Wars: RPG

What are you looking for as a member of our guild?

I am looking for a place to write and game with people who are about having fun, growing as players / writers, and interested in building a community of friends. So far I have found that with Saga as a recruit and I hope that I am providing the very same thing that I am receiving.

Have you read and agree to our Guild Policies and Guidelines?

Yes, I have read and agree the Guild Policies and Guidelines.

Please answer the following three questions, IN CHARACTER:

All of the in character writing is from a developmental standpoint. The general feel of the character existed, but specifics will have to be saved until SWTOR launches. Thank you.

Tell us of your past.

"War is hell. A simple motto told to me from being a eager greenhorn to a promising prospect for the Republic Special Forces. I had the drive and the talent, but he made sure to grind in the experience. My first mission backfired something nasty and forced me to adapt quickly. Everything that I went through was to prevent the hell that war was described to be, and I know I would do it again for the Republic if I were asked.

As a kid I grew up with my siblings on Coruscant. I guess you can say I was given propaganda for breakfast, values for lunch, and patriotism for dinner. Many people would call me a zealot, I just call myself a man trying to ensure a better future for the next generation. My mother and father were basic civilians, running a small business repairing armor and weapons for mercenaries.

When the Sith Empire sacked the planet, I got a bite-sized preview of the motto I would learn when I got older. From that moment on I knew what I had to do and what I wanted to do. As soon as I was old enough I signed up for the military. I was the last of my siblings to leave home so I was eager to go.

Ever since then I've been honing my skills, making sure I was good enough to survive. I can't lift rocks with my mind and the best way I can change someone's mind is putting them at the business end of a blaster rifle, so I have to be better than the people that can conjure the unseen powers of the galaxy. One mistake is all it takes to have my armor and a Republic banner sent home to my parents.

When I joined the R.S.F. I saw just how far one person has to go in order to hold back the hounds of hell. I asked myself if I could continue to be a protector on and off the battlefield, and the only answer that I got back became my new motto:
"

"For the Republic."

What hobbies and directives do you presently have?

"When I have the time I fiddle with armor parts, seeing how they can be customized or improved. Nothing serious, just something that must have been passed down through my parents.

As for my directives... a good soldier never reveals his orders. I can tell you that personally I aim to make the biggest impact possible to make sure the Sith never touch Coruscant again. That's a personal directive that has not changed since I was a Private.
"

Where do you see yourself in the future?

"Who knows? In my line of work the future could be minutes, days, months, or years from now. All I can see is a galaxy being split in two and not enough kolto packs to keep the cracks from getting wider. In the future, I see a unified galaxy run by the Republic and free of the Sith Empire's existence. "

Welcome to Saga guild!

Please be sure to read the posts stickied at the top of this forum and be sure you agree with the rules and charter. This guild has a history, as you will see. It is, well, a Saga.

Saga is also part of a multi-game guild formed when a few wandered off to try other games. Sister guilds have formed, and we all come here to check on each other. This multi-game guild is currently called SagaFamily. We are indeed a family.

To become part of that, please take the time to fill out the attached roster card and post it to this message. This procedure is for the others here who will not see you in TOR so they can get to know you. You do not have to fill the roster card out to be part of Saga in-game. You can do it now or in the future. You can fill one out even if you do not wish to join the larger family. There is no pressure, and no rush. Take your time and look around.

Just a reminder: After your board rank is changed to recruit, you will be granted access to the private game related forums, such as questing and crew skills.

If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to ask!

Welcome!
