Hello, Saga!

I'm just stopping by to say, "Hi."  I've been messaging with Vilidius on the SWTOR forums about Saga.  Thank you for accepting my application.

I look forward to getting to know people, role-playing in game, and just experiencing the great game ahead of us.  It's going to be a lot of fun.

Personally, I've been reminiscing a bit about Firiona Vie.  I remember Saga from those good old days as a very upstanding group of people.  So, I am glad to be here now.

I am very undecided about what class I will play, although I am leaning Jedi Consular.  They all look so fun and well done.  At least I have three months to figure it out!

Vilidius

Welcome once again, this time to our boards.

As I promised, there will be plenty of people willing and able to play "remember when" here.

My personal favorite, of late, was reminiscing about how when FV launched with no common language amongst races we all used to communicate by putting messages in our "inspect" box.  That was how a lot of people found the original FV forums.  Word was spread in that silly little box and a community formed around it.

Anyway, I think a lot of us are hoping to recapture some of that magic in TOR.  Glad you'll be here for that attempt.

Welcome! And who were you on FV?

And I'm very impressed that you actually are from Tython. (I looked at your profile in case there was a hint as to your FV persona.) I've never met a real Jedi before.  :exXO:

Wait.  We had an ispect box?!  I seriously can't believe I'm hearing about this for the first time in 10 years.   :uglystupid2:  I have no recollection of how I found the FV boards at all.  Probably a rouge rogue Google search.  I remembered finding an FV home page that linked to the FV ezboards.

This inspect thing is new to me as well. Some Dark Elf cheat, I suspect.
Back in my day, to learn a language, you spent all day with Dara zoning back and forth from Qeynos to Qeynos Hills, uphill, both ways.
The opinions expressed here are my own and I have my wife's permission to say so.

How soon they forget. I was the one who taught you at the Qeynos Hills zoneline, dwarf. First time I met you. I was puzzled as to why your hair was red but your beard was gray.

And don't forget that our guildhall was a cardboard box in the middle of the road.

I didn't know about the inspect box either.  Wow.  That would have been easier.

I remember people eventually figuring out to speak through emotes, which I thought was cheating  :P

I was two characters on Firiona Vie.  Haldrim a high elf enchanter, then Kelthas, a wood elven rogue.  I liked the one character limit, but my alt-itis got the best of me.

Both characters were in a guild entitled <The Emerald Family>.  I believe Kuladen, who was in the Emerald Family eventually made his way to Saga.

Some around here may remember a Lasgalen Lothir (wood elf druid).  He was a good guy, always around forums and game, although I'm not sure which guild.  He eventually made his way over to City of Heroes and we were in a supergroup there for a long while.

On Firiona Vie the one character limit (while it lasted), the lack of /shout , and the language barrier made for amazing times.  As an enchanter, I took the role of main healer one time because my bandaging skill was the highest in our party.

I love crowd control.

Yes, I am from Tython.  Tython, California!

Mixxi

Wow--memories indeed. Of course I remember the Emerald Family, and Lasgalen Lothir (although mostly from his posts on the FV boards). I also remember your Haldrim. I'm so glad you have joined our merry band!

I apologize, MostToys. I have a memory like a sieve.
Though I did learn some languages from Dara.
As for the beard, I was...
A. not able to give it colour due to coding issues
or
B. going for the George Michael look.

And Lasgalen has frequented our boards here on occasion.
The opinions expressed here are my own and I have my wife's permission to say so.

(I'll have to add my own FV memories when I get some time)

Welcome to Saga guild!

Please be sure to read the posts stickied at the top of this forum and be sure you agree with the rules and charter. This guild has a history, as you will see. It is, well, a Saga.

Saga is also part of a multi-game guild formed when a few wandered off to try other games. Sister guilds have formed, and we all come here to check on each other. This multi-game guild is currently called SagaFamily. We are indeed a family.

To become part of that, please take the time to fill out the attached roster card and post it to this message. This procedure is for the others here who will not see you in TOR so they can get to know you. You do not have to fill the roster card out to be part of Saga in-game. You can do it now or in the future. You can fill one out even if you do not wish to join the larger family. There is no pressure, and no rush. Take your time and look around.

Just a reminder: After your board rank is changed to recruit, you will be granted access to the private game related forums, such as questing and crew skills.

If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to ask!

Welcome!

Ryland

Saga TOR MOI

Thanks for the welcome, Ryland!

Roster Card for Saga.

Please write an introduction to your character.
Alcuin ((AL-coo-in)) is a male human Jedi Consular and Sage.  He has taking up slicing, a talent learned from his father, Synthweaving for practical purposes, and archaeology because he craves knowledge especially knowledge of the past.

Do you have alternate characters on the same server?
Yes.  Captain Argos, a smuggler of no reknown- just the way he likes it.

How did you hear of us?
I was aquainted with some Saga and Starspun members back on Firiona Vie.  I came acroos Saga again after browsing the guild section of the SWTOR forums and reading up on the whole guild deployment process.  I met Vilidius via private messgae and I get the feeling we both could tell right away that this was the place for me.

Is there anyone you have gotten to know from our family, IC or OOC?
So far, I have met several members and recruits.  I have run into (and grouped with) Valgith and Vilidius a few times; Caer and Zem too.  Of course I was there when we took down the giant droid as well!

What Roleplay games have you participated in?
Online games: mostly EQ1, City of Heroes, and WoW

What are you looking for as a member of our guild?
Compnionship and an opportunity for fun.

Have you read and agree to our Guild Policies and Guidelines?
Yes!

Please answer the following three questions, IN CHARACTER:

Tell us of your past.

Born and raised on Coruscant by parents who both worked for the government, I led a typical life of many Republic citizens until my sensitivity to the force was discovered.  I was quite a bit older than most when I was accepted into the ranks for Jedi training, and my training was... delayed further...  by... unforseen circumstances.  My training was nearly over when Coruscant was attacked and the Jedi temple destroyed.  I begged to stay and fight, but was forced to evacuate with the others in training.

What hobbies and directives do you presently have?
I could spend days in the Archives.  I regret that I will not live long enough to study all there is, but such is it with us all.  Still, academic pursuits must be sidelined occasionally and I enjoy the watching the races in the cantina as much as any hutt.

Where do you see yourself in the future?
I sense that the future of the galaxy will be filled with strife.  I will be where I am needed most, and uphold the tenets of the Order and the Republic.
