Not dead, just otherwise occupied

The holidays ate up a large amount of my time, between end of quarter, preparing for travel, travel, and recovering from travel.  When I've had free time for games, my brain hasn't been in GW2 mode, so I've been waking up some of my superheroes in Champions Online. I'm sure I'll be circling back to GW2 in the future, but wanted to let folks know what's happened to me in the meantime.

Come back soon! We've been doing a variety of puzzles (not just jumping), fractals (any level can go and be leveled up to 80), WvW, and explorable dungeons. Would be great to have Team Alirrin around. I think Rafe misses Mara particularly.

Is this like WvW where I may be leveled up to 80 but it is pointless to go b/c I'm useless unless I AM 80?

It is like WvW, but I disagree that low-levels are useless in either fractals or WvW. Gnat started co-tanking fractals with Qwalin at level 35, and she probably would have been pretty useful before that, too. I think we dragged Tys in at a pretty low level.

In WvW, you will die pretty quickly if you jump into the middle of a fight, but just about anyone will be CC'd to death doing that. WvW has LOTS of useful things for characters with lower-end gear. In fact, Rafe Harkner spends much of his WvW time doing things he could probably do naked--carrying supplies, repairing, and operating siege machinery. If you have any ranged attacks, you can stand on the walls and attack the zerg below (just be careful, dodge out of red circles, and retreat out of attack range frequently. Spend time up on the walls watching how people attack, follow the zerg and learn where all the towers/supply camps are/take single NPC capture objectives (they're only 1 point for our side, but a point is a point)/go with a Saga group and just hang out and get a feel for the area.

This is not a game where lower-level characters can't do things with higher-level characters. So many times I've seen Lyrima around in guild and wanted to do things with her (even tried to track you down in Gendarran Fields lately). Don't let being lower-level stop you from saying "Need another?" or "Let's do something together".

I'd love to show Lyrima a fractal or hang out in WvW.

I might even be able to drag Blaek into a group or two now that we've the lay of the land.  I'm super curious about these jumping puzzles.  We were loving WvW until it was clear we were just too low.  Liry's nearly 30 now (the levels fly by!) so it is a good time to check back into WvW and follow up on some of your suggestions
