Bindi the Hobbit
Creeping Crook

Bindi walks up to the tavern. Through the well lit windows, she can see her friends laughing and drinking and being merry. She reaches up and swipes her sleeve across her eyes for the fifty-leventh time, wondering if she will ever run out of tears. It's cold outside and the fire in the tavern is inviting, but she isn't sure she's ready to face her family yet. She pulls the hood of her cloak over her face and slips inside, sticking to the shadows until she finds an empty table near the fireplace. The barmaid comes over and Bindi quietly orders vodka and juice, then stops the barmaid with her hand. "Better bring tha whole bottle lass..." The barmaid nods and goes back behind the counter.

When she returns, Bindi downs two shots in rapid succession, forgetting she was supposed to add it to the juice. She slumps back in her chair and pulls her hood down a bit more. She had told Brutin earlier that the only way to heal was to face her pain, but perhaps she was wrong. Perhaps healing would come at the bottom of the bottle.

Captain Titaisia Lightheart
Wishful Dreamer

Titaisia sniffs the air, then turns to look at the hooded figure a long time. She walks to the bar, purchases a bottle, then carries her sitting cushion over to the low table, placing it next to Bindi. Titaisia pours from the bottle of juice she brought from the bar into the glass, adding only a small amount of vodka, and puts the glass back in front of her friend, and keeping the bottles closer to herself. She rubs Bindi's shoulder a moment, then sits, quietly humming to herself, waiting until Bindi is ready to speak.

Bindi the Hobbit
Creeping Crook

Bindi reaches over and takes the glass Titai poured for her. She swirls the drink around a bit, takes a sip, and decides she's too tired to argue about how much vodka should be in the drink.

She glances up at Titai and chokes out a whisper. "Will ye sing fer me Titai?"

Amaeliya

Looking up from her conversation with Siffo, Amaeliya startledly notices the miserable look on Bindi's face. Concerned, she slips off of her stool and over to Bindi, leaving her shield forgotten against the bar counter. She gently brushes her hand against Bindi's arm to subtly announce her presence, wishing to Karana she knew better how to comfort those in need, but instead just gives what she hopes is an encouraging smile and steps back.

"Will ye sing fer me Titai?" she hears Bindi whisper. Amaeliya hangs back far enough as to not crowd Bindi, but close enough that if Bindi wanted anything, the young druid could do what she could to help her.

Serinity Di'Marcia
Holy Knight of Tunare

Leaving her ale, and going over to Bindi, Serinity waits next to Amaeliya so as not to crowd Bindi. Leaning over a bit so she can whisper to Bindi, "I am here ifn ye need me lass".

Quea FV
Port a Party

Quea pushes open the bar door slowly hoping there are no surprises inside today. She peers into the room and senses some sadness and concern but nothing beyond that. Suits me fine, she thinks, not too jovial and no hostility.

Quea chooses a seat near the door and does not look to see who is in the bar. She sits down and begins to search in her pack until she hears soft music and looks to it's source.

It is the Jharin! She then notices Bindi, her heart aches at the sight. Her family sisters and a stranger gathered round her.

Quea stands up and is about to approach when she realizes Bindi is in good hands. Quea sits down again and summons the barmaid. She whispers to the girl "Burn some incense of Twilight Sea please. I believe we could use it's powers of comfort upon us."

Captain Titaisia Lightheart
Wishful Dreamer

Tita smiles gently at Bindi, then begins to play a lullabye on her mandolin as she sings:

"The time has come to sleep, dear heart,
The time has come to dream.
The time has come to close your eyes
And drift upon the stream.

The gentle wind speaks soft your name,
The river, it does, too.
They sing with me a melody -
This song I sing to you.

Breathe soft, breathe deep, my gentle one.
Let your cares unwind.
Leave this place in warm embrace
Of dreams caring and kind.

The time has come to sleep, dear heart,
The time has come to dream.
The time has come to close your eyes
And drift upon the stream."

Tita ends her song, gazing at her friend with bright, warm eyes.

Serinity Di'Marcia
Holy Knight of Tunare

<A tear slips down her cheek at the beauty of the song>

Mixxi Bixiebane
Diva of Destruction

Mixxi stifles a sniffle and edges her chair a bit closer to the quiet group. She suspects some bad news, but for once decides to keep her mouth closed. She casts around for some way to help the sad halfling, and at last begins to offer up an extremely rare and heartfelt silent prayer to her god.

Bindi the Hobbit
Creeping Crook

Bindi looks up at Titaisia and smiles weakly, then glances around at the other lasses gathered around her. She sighed; so much for sulking alone in her misery. She pulled back her hood and saw brows furrow all around her as they saw how swollen and bloodshot her eyes were. She took another sip of her drink and cleared her throat.

"I spose ye all are wonderin wot I be so upset about eh?" Bindi sniffed. "I have had a vera long night...I spoke with Brutin earlier about his encounter with that wretch Vestaban..." She trailed off and choked back a sob, composed herself and continued. "He said...he was all ready ta take on tha inkie an his pet when he got stabbed from behind...He didna know who it was, only that Vestaban had trapped him so he cast a spell on tha person stabbin him. Then he finished off Vestaban..." Bindi trailed off again, tears running down her cheeks.

She fumbled in a pocket and brought out a kerchief. "I'm sorry...jes a second..." She dabbed at her eyes and blew her nose.

Bindi cleared her throat again. "He didna realize who had stabbed him until tha fight was over. When...when he looked over at who it was..." She burried her face in her hands, wracked by sobs.

Wystro

Drawn in by softly sweet and soothing melodies, a pale elf enters the tavern. He spies Bindi and her circle of loved ones.

She aches, because she has lost a part of herself. Her companions also suffer, for she is a part of them. The scent of incense gently hangs in the air; and the taverns patrons -- both silently and with humble offerings -- attempt to provide her tortured spirit a moment of peace.

The elf hopes that through the pain of what she has lost, she can feel the part of her son that remains in her. The elf holds back in respect, wrapping himself in the layers of his robes. Talk will come at another time. May she find a moment of solace.

Katryna Sowdier
Shamaness of Saga

Katryna was sitting at her table in the back when she noticed Bindi quietly entering. Being one to sit back and observe most of the time, she kept an eye on the figure that was not her loud jovial self.

Kat watched Bindi take her bottle and go to the table across the room and quietly sit down. The spirits were screaming of a wrong but Kat had no idea what it was. Katryna wanted to go to her dear friend but something held her back.

Kat watched Titaisia approach Bindi and smiled to herself, ah if anyone can ease the pain that Bindi is going through it would be Titaisia and her beautiful music that seemed to be played straight from the heart. Others started to approach the table and then Kat heard Bindi start her story. Remembering what Bindi had mentioned earlier to her about who Brutin was suppose to go meet and who else was suppose to be there she felt she heart tighten and knew deep down why the spirits were acting so strange and why her friend was in so much pain.

Katryna stayed where she was, Bindi seemed to have many around her to aid her through this. Later Kat would talk to Bindi, or maybe just sit with her in the silence and let Bindi talk and reason out what has happened.

Bindi the Hobbit
Creeping Crook

Bindi composed herself somewhat, dabbing at her eyes and nose with the kerchief. She took another sip of her drink.

"I spose I gotta get on with meself now eh? I canna be dwellin on this...t'is gonna tear me up. I canna get him ba.." Bindi sniffs back a sob. "I canna get him back now, Bristlebane's got him..." She wipes her eyes again, and looks around at all her friends. "Thankee fer ...jes bein here fer me...an fer yer beautiful song Titai..." Bindi finishes her drink.
"Least Brutin's alive. An Vestaban's dead. I donna think I could go on at all if Vestaban had won. That would jes be tha end o' me, knowin he got away."

Quea FV
Port a Party

Quea listens carefully to Bindi's words. Her memory of the lesson Bindi taught her long ago returns. You carry on with life through all of the pain and trouble. You just carry on.

Quea bows her head and whispers to herself. "But can I?"

Captain Titaisia Lightheart
Wishful Dreamer

"Bindi... The people who you love with always be with you in your heart. Always always."

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Serinity Di'Marcia
Holy Knight of Tunare

<with her own ghosts to confront, Serinity can't think of any comforting words to try and make everything better. Giving Bindi a hug, Serinity quietly leaves the tavern; hoping everyone's eyes and hearts stay on the grief-stricken lass>

Bippin Tenderfoot
Redeemed Rogue

Bippin silently steps out from the shadows behind Bindi's chair. He steps around the chair, bends down and wraps his arms around her. It's barely possible to notice a mist of wetness in his eyes.
"Bindi" he whispers. "I know your pain, I have felt it too. It hurts like hell now, I know. But I can only promise you it will fade. It will never go away, no, it won't. But at least it will dull. And I'm always here for you if an' when you need me"
He holds her gently in his arms for the length of a hundred heartbeats. He then let's go, and takes a few steps back, to let others comfort her. But he remains close.
