Do you have alternate characters on the same server?
Yes, 6. I have confirmed altitis, terminal I'm afraid. However, I've been working my habit and only leveling two. My Dom side main, Xaeka and Arrah herself.

How did you hear of us?
WSRP's website and your ads on the official WS Forums

Is there anyone you have got to know from the family, IC or OOC?
I had some brief acquaintance with one of your guild leaders early on in the TOR release via SWTOR-RP, but the contact was only in passing and casual.

What types of games have you participated in? (include all types, such as pen/paper or MMORPGs, PC, Console, board games, card games.)
I'm an old roleplayer, 30 year+ veteran of tabletop, online etc. I also keep a wide variety of tabletop boardgames. I had a brief flirtation with consoles a few years ago but was quickly disenchanted with the offerings available.

What other games are you interested in that Saga participates or is moving towards?
None. Wildstar is what I'm interested in playing now. I own GW2, I own TOR, but I've no intention of going back any time in the near future. EQ2 has potential, but it's far too early in development for me to get remotely excited about the title.

What aspects of gaming have you enjoyed in the past and/or looking forward to enjoying with Saga? Light raiding, dungeon delving, situational roleplay, story-writing, crafting, PvP, etc.
Um, I've done all? At various times I've enjoyed all. So long is none of it is made "work", I assume I will enjoy all in the future as well. Most group activities I find are like that. If it has to be forced to happen, it simply not going to be terribly fun. Oppositely, if folks want to do it, they will come together without a lot of angst and do all sorts of "work" because to them it will not be "work" it will in fact be fun.

What are you looking for as a member of our guild?
Casual, minimal demand good times. I'm not an achiever archetype. I'm pretty evenly split on the gamer psych tests between social, killer and explorer. There's no "thing" I want. No achievement I have to have, not gear I'm going to pursue. I want to play the game and do so with folk who are having a good time, whether they're roleplaying, PvE, PvP, Raiding, etc.

Have you read and agree to our Guild Policies and Guidelines?
Ayep. Lack of complex heirarchy, ranks, etc. was a selling point.

Please answer the following three questions, IN CHARACTER:

Tell us of your past.

Arrah's amber Vitalus tinted eyes glanced to the dossier displayed on the holopad on the desk in front of her and then back to the interviewer, her expression incredulous. "Doesn't that say everything?" She asked, her voice sounding a little annoyed. "Or is this an essay?" she continued and then gave a small dismissive shrug. "Very well, let's see. I was born to Ander and Alicia Antarka, a well to do family in Golganon province. We weren't aristocracy, by heredity at any rate, but the Antarka name was well known and respected in Academic circles. Both of my parents worked as professors at the province science institute and I spent much of my time growing up exploring the huge facility. I think I learned how to access central cortex before I could run on my own. I was something of a wunderkin'. No Lazarin, to be sure, but gifted. No sense in being falsely humble about it. By the time I'd reached my fourteenth year, I'd been admitted to the fast track line at the institue itself, skipping over all of my primary grades and several of my secondaries." Arrah smiled with remembered pride at her accomplishment.

"I was fifteen when it happened, when Lazarin made his blunder," Arrah said, scowling bitterly. "The rest as they say, is history. The Contagion ran rampant through the province, millions died in just a few weeks. My mother fell to it first. I and father were at the institute, working on confirming some of the preliminary experiments that Lazarin had done on the other side of the globe, hoping to get Vitalus manufacture up as quickly as possible in our area. The early warning sirens though had sent us back to the estate and our panic facilities. The Dominion had begun bombing the local space ports and shipyards to ensure that no one could lift from the planet and break quarantine. Their targeting wasn't particularly discriminating. When we arrived at the estate, we discovered that our own Vitalus stores had been compromised. My mother and the servants had torn each other apart as the hunger had taken them. I think my father went a little mad then. We snuck round to the panic room and he locked me in with the last of our stores of Vitalus. Then he sealed me up. I never saw him again. I used our stasis chamber to preserve the Vitalus I had. I was sealed in that tomb for six months before a rescue team found me and took me to one of the shelters. When they pulled me from the wreck of our home, I didn't recognize Golganon. It was a blasted and putrid wasteland. That, I think was the worse day of my life..."

Arrah stopped, her eyes cast down. "Is that what you wanted to hear?" she asked, her voice choked with a mixture of rage and sorrow. She looked up, eyes blazing. "Get the perspective you needed? Good! I glad I could help you out with that," she said acidly. Arrah took a deep breath then, the cybernetics giving a soft wheeze as she got control of her emotions. "After that, matters became academic," she continued. "They gathered us together as best they could. All the best minds all working on the problem. We made progress. Well, they called it progress. We improved the effectiveness of the Vitalus, we perfected its manufacture. We established redundant distribution networks. Life, as it was, became a bit easier. We didn't make any real progress though, not really. We managed to get some breathing room, between us and the madness and the rot, but we couldn't fight it back. We never were able to reclaim the territory... or people we'd lost. Five decades and our best minds came up with nothing. Can you imagine how impotent that made us feel? How hopeless?" Arrah asked, her voice strained. "In the last decade, we lost as many to suicide as we did to the rot. We were ready to lay down and die. It was over."

Arrah put her hand to her head and sighed, pushing the mass of techo-dreadlocks back out of her pale face. "And then," she went on, "you people came. You broke the blockade. You gave us hope. Don't get me wrong, I'm greatful. I can't be anything but greatful. Because of you Exiles, we have a chance maybe to turn the tide. For that, we'll always be thankful. You just have to understand though, when you ask me to tell you about my past... I really don't want to talk about it."

What hobbies and quests do you presently have?
"You have got to be joking," Arrah said looking at the interviewer with blatant disbelief. Then she laughed out loud, her shoulders shaking with huge guffaws. This went on for about three minutes until she finally managed to get it back together. "I'm sorry," she panted, her metalic voice rasping, "you're just doing your job. I know, you've got to ask all these things. Give me a second." Arrah wiped at her eyes, amber Vitalus tinted tears streaking her cheeks. "Hobbies," she began, "well, I spend most of my free time studying to be honest. When I do get out in the field, it's to collect samples and extend our knowledge. When I want to have fun, it's generally sitting down with an arcane and hoary piece of lore or a complicated mathematical puzzle. I-" Arrah paused, her voice catching with a small gulping sound in her throat. She swallowed and then continued. "I used to like dancing," she said, quietly. "It's been a very very long time since I've danced."

Where do you see yourself in the future?
Arrah blurted another laugh, this time though sounding to be on the border between hysteria and despair. She wiped at her eyes angrily. "Um," she began with a sniffle and then she said defiantly, "I see myself cured." She went on. "We're going to find all sorts of new techniques here on Nexus and we're going to find a way to undo this." Arrah took another shaky deep breath. "We'll find a cure," she said, "and when we do this bad dream will end." Arrah smiled sadly, her eyes brimming with fear and hope. "There's just no other way. I'm going to make it happen."

Welcome to the Saga guild!

Please be sure to read the posts stickied at the top of this forum and be sure you agree with the rules and charter. This guild has a history, as you will see. It is, well, a Saga.

Thank you for filling out the Roster Card. This procedure is for the others here who will not see you in Wildstar so they can get to know you.

Saga is also part of a multi-game guild formed when a few wandered off to try other games. Sister guilds have formed, and we all come here to check on each other. This multi-game guild is currently called SagaFamily. We are indeed a family.

As an Initiate, you should now have access to the private game related forums, such as questing and crafting disciplines.

If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to ask!

Welcome!

Again welcome. I very much like the details you have provided for your character. While her story may not be atypical from the surviving Mordesh I felt it was very personal and make it easier to identify with her. I look forward to interacting and RPing in game.

Scriptorium

Thanks for the warm welcome folks. Will be nice to get to know you all.

Alys

Gosh, Pinkie, did you really have to pester her with all those personal questions? Couldn't you see how upset she was? Have a heart!

K, I'll add that name to the watch list. Bigby, eh? Big B. Wolf? *chuckels* I love that game. They really need to release episodes faster.

Scriptorium

Just a note. Last Friday night  I had one of my chronic back spasms. Put me down for the entire weekend. Hopefully back in the next couple days when I can handle sitting at the computer.

Yikes. I hope you feel better soon. That is no way to spend a weekend.

By the way, I had a pleasant, if brief, conversation with an aurin in Illium this weekend. So thanks for that. ^^
