Allrighty then, here goes.

Other than some back-end stuff the Changeover is fairly complete. 

You'll notice Quotes are back.  You post one just like you would post, well, a reply post.  I've got about half of them installed ... I'll install the other half tomorrow morning.
EDIT: Not quite fixed yet. But soon. Very soon. Fixed now.

Blogs under the old system I cannot import at all without some risk of database corruption.  We don't want that.  I ~do~ have the html versions of the blogs that were there saved.  I can send em to you if you want, or post em up in an archive page that would be read-only and not editable.  The blogging system that we ~do~ have now is not as 'pretty' as the old one, but everyone has one already if they wish.  And you can control your entries accessibility ... public or private.  I'm still futzing with mine to explore all the details.  I feel badly that I was not able to import the old ones ... but it was not a risk I was willing to take.

Personal galleries are also a new feature.  If you click on "Gallery" you'll notice a My Gallery link in the upper right.  That's your own personal private space.  If you used a picture you uploaded in the old gallery as an avatar (and I can think of a couple) you will want to check the current gallery for it, get the link, and change the avatar info.

Ultimately, the main driving force behind the Changeover was preservation of our data, ease of support, and ease of backing things up.  But mainly the preservation of data.

So and So and So and So is viewing this topic/board in the right hand corner when in the forum has returned.

Time offsetting remains to be twitchy.  If the site time appears off to you, go to Profile > Look and Layout Preferences.  There's an option there to add or subtract hours to make what you "see" the "correct time".  Adjust as needed.

As Gwenae noticed, javascripting and posting editor wonkiness appears to be feexed.

Mark as Read continues to be a pain in my ass.  I shall SNARL at it, however ... and it shall comply .... at some point.

If you want to collapse / hide the right or left columns, there are two small buttons tucked away directly above the left column.  Click on the left one to hide/unhide the left column, click on the right to do the right.

As said before, Chat still functions properly. 

Most everything is accessed via the button bar at the top, now ... as opposed to having a menu to the side and to the top.

Clicking on a topic link in Recent Posts on the front page will indeed take you to that latest post, as opposed to the beginning of the thread like the onld one used to.

I'm still working on the issue where if you use the shoutbox feature in the middle of posting and click "Shout" before you click "post" the page refreshes and you lose the contents of the post you hadn't submitted yet.  This one is gonna take a while ... so .. preferably, folks, save that urge to Shout until after you posted your post.  Post first, then shout, or shout first then post ... trying to do both at exact time will resxult in one or the other not retaining the text.

URL's now work in the ShoutBox

Smilies now work in the Shoutbox.

I'll think of some other things and will post again ... I gotta do some work here at work though

What's up with the Wiki under the rules and documentation forum?

Are we thinking about a general-use wiki at this point?

Eventually .... maybe.  Dunno.

The Rules and Docs dealie is meant, by intent, to have a different look and feel.  I've just not gotten around to adjusting the styling and templating files for it yet.  All that forum/area has, however, is the look and feel .... the flavor of a wiki.  Not the actual function of a wiki.

There is a distinct difference.  I keep pondering the idea of how to integrate an actual wiki in here ... and the concept makes my eyes roll up in my head after reading some of the documentation.

Also ... BLOGS!

Part of the featuring of the new blogs is Access Control.  Make an entry and you yourself control who gets to see it and who doesn't.  The Options are:  Public, Private, Members, Buddies.  Public is wide open to guests and everyone.  Private is you and only you.  Members is anyone registered, regardless of Membergroup.  Buddies is a select group of people you yourself choose.  If you view someone's profile, you will see an link you can click to "Add to Buddy List". 

ASLO: Big News!!! Ime, the marvelous, fixed the Bolgs and it's now Members only. Members means only people who are SagaFamily and up. No guests, No Inititates.
And that's a good thing. Just like before. Of course you can still make it private and make it buddies only. Which is uber cool.

Yeah ... there are some inner issues with this Gallery dealie I am going to SNARL at.  Especially considering what I had to do to get it.

I have just gone through and commented on the pictures I remember (except I think I lost track of what I did and didn't comment already, so I might have to wait till the first comments are approved then see what's still missing)
