...aside from Google, is there another free website I can use to create an online portfolio?

I wonder if using something like this or php would work.

Advice, oh webmasters of the Saga world?

I want to upload pictures, display written and verbal content and maybe create a slide show or something.  Not sure what I want because I'm not sure what the possibilities are.

Hmmm....  Are you talking like just you snapshots of vacations and what not or more for your photography and such?   If you mean a sort of porfolio for your artwork and what not, and I can't belive I haven't told you guys,  my brother (the genius behind the Rehash site) started a free online portfolio site for artists, designers, photographers, etc etc and it's actually pretty cool:

I have a lot of artist friends who've done well on the site.  A lot of employers looking for creative types actually use the site to hire people, so who knows, you may find your hobby becomes something more!

I'm looking for a space that will showcase my (excellent-ha!) media literacy skillz.

As in, I want to make a teaching portfolio, have a web address to which I can send prospective employers.

It isn't artwork...it's school work.  I may do a 'podcast' type thing or want to add sound or something to the whole thing. I'm not sure what I'll end up doing.

At the very least I need a few pages that I can post digital items on.  I know Google sites will probably work just fine for my needs--

Uh....I'm not really sure what google pages does, as I've never used, so I wouldn't know how to compare the two.  And, admittedly, though I have a Shown'd profile, I haven't really used it since helping my brother test the site prior to launch.  But here's how Shown'd describes itself:

Some people link their Shown'd portfolio directly to their site.  Others use Shown'd as their main site.  I do know Shown'd is image-heavy and very user-friendly for people who need to upload multiple hi-res images and what not.  I honestly haven't spent enough time playing around with the site or with Google sites (and now I feel soooo guilty, I hope Eni doesn't read this.  /cries).
