We have that little Random site of the day thing.
Every time the Random Wikipedia Link comes up, I hit it, to see what's up.
Now I know if I read these boards enough in an hour, I'm going to see it so that's not shocking, what was shocking is that while I was on the PC, I was watching Underworld: Evolution. Good movie, BTW.
And what Random site comes up, out of over 1,245,302 articles?

Actually, what I believe is sorta kinda convoluted and complicated, BUT! It makes sense to me. Most of the time.

Not believing in coincidence is like not believing in rocks. A "coincidence" is simply the expression that two things happened at the same time. "What a coincidence!" is just an indication of surprise at the events "coniciding", it says nothing of causality.

And things *do* happen at the same time for no reason at all. Now, I will certainly agree that sometimes a coincidence may have some reason behind it (whether due to divine intervention, psychic links between individuals, or what have you), but other times, it's "just 'cuz". :-)

It's all part of the cosmic flow, man. I mean like, can you dig it? *hehehe* I'm sorry I just couldn't resist. Hm. Maybe there's a crumb of an idea in there for a character. *toddles off to ponder what type of character would talk like a 60's flower child and the cosmic coincidence that she would stumble on this thread while in the mood to create a new character and ...* Wow man. That blows my mind!

But see, that's exactly what I mean. Nothing happens 'just cuz' in my opinion. I may not KNOW the reason, I may never know the reason, but there is a reason for it.

Maybe this coincidence idea falls under the same category this question does:

If a tree falls in a forest and no one is there to hear it, did it make a noise when it fell?

Sure, use logic, but the underlying question really is: does noise truly 'exist' if there is no recipient of the noise?

And I completely respect your opinion that some things happen 'just cuz' =)

He's all good with things. Just happy ta watch the world go by and collect his herbs, Mon.
It's not easy, Mon, but it's good stuff. He's a healer and only fights if he needs ta Mon. Too much work.

what i love about the random stuff is when you are reading a post from someone and you look over to see thier picture!

it's a very nice reminder that there are REAL people behind this text.
