They suddenly got larger. Was this intentional?

I know mine and Katu's are significantly larger.

Yes and no.  The problem is with the externally linked avatars. 

Long answer: I used to have some settings switched on / off that made these easy to handle and pretty.   These settings, however, are not compatible with the gallery and blog stuff.  So I had to change them.  This caused issues with the animated avatars that were externally linked.  So I had to do some other stuff.  Some external avatars of some folks were painfully large ... like 800x600, and resizing the pic (instead of html resize, which was n issue all its own) to 65x65 made it ugly.  So I upped the limit to 150x150. 100x100

Short answer:  Upping the size on avatars caused a bit of interim wonkiness, which I'm fixing as I catch them.  Yours be fixed now
