Gallery access

Hi there
Is it possible that I still cannot access several gallery pages?
I cannot see the RL-gallery, for example.
And I also cannot add a picture of my own.

Neither can I. 

Not sure if the initiate under my name on the posts means I am still considered an initiate rank or just means I haven't made enough posts to move higher.

Huh? Actual Initiates should be locked out, but you should have special access as Family Member.. hmm...

Strong point! Maybe that's it... we still are "initiates" here on the forums...

I didn't forget! You should be able to see the Knock forums and stuff. You are technically classed as Family members, with full standard board access. I left the initiate title because you still have a Veteran vote coming up in a week. After that, then I'll change your status to Veteran completely.

Hehehe, it's not that. If you'd tell me that for one reason or another I don't have the rights yet, that's fine.
But as this apparently is not the case, you might want to have a look at the reason for the denial of access.

The gallery "RL" I cannot enter at all, for example, but the gallery with the character images, there I can enter.
I cannot upload any pictures yet, though

Umm.. I don't know is really the answer. You should be able to, but you cannot. Therefore I'm looking into how to fix it behind the scenes. I had some issues a while ago with Shoutbox access, but this is the first time the gallery has given me access issues.

I'm pretty sure that's the way it's supposed to be.  They need to pass the veteran vote before they have access to some things, like RL pictures.  I believe the exXO made it that way to protect our privacy from new members after an incident or two.  He wanted us to make sure we got to know the members before granting access.  This may have stemmed from when Saga was in multiple games.  For example, someone in Saga-WoW would become full member but the people in Saga-Vanguard didn't know him/her well so wouldn't feel comfortable with that person having full access to RL pictures of their children or what not.

Thus, you must be a Veteran to get that access.  And for the veteran status you must be active on the boards, not just in game.  Jasyn can correct/confirm this though, I vaguely remember this.

Oh right! That must be why it's set that way. The way it works is you go from in-game initiates, to regular members, and 2 weeks after that the Council does a Veteran vote and you become Veterans. Ana did a good job explaining it. Right now as regular members, you pretty much have rights to every board, but he must have set it up so you don't get RL photo or Gallery access until Veteran. I don't understand the Gallery access part.. can you access your Personal Gallery?

I'm not sure about which ranks were granted access to which of the little features and whatnot.  Did we ever create a board rank (i.e. "EQ2 Member") to make it clear that there was an in-game rank that bridged Initiate & Veteran?  If there *is* one, maybe it has some extra permissions granted to it?  EQ2 did not originally have this, but some of the other guild chapters adopted it.  It got confuddling.

Also I seem to vaguely, vaguely recall Imeriel mentioning something about having troubles with the gallery permissions at one time.  It was something to the effect of having to deny most (if not all) of the galleries in order to protect one in particular, and there was only one with open access so that it would be the only gallery containing pics that would be allowed to display in the random images box.

It was so long ago now, though, I'm not quite positive on the specifics, and I'm not even barely certain if I'm remembering the basic gist of the challenge correctly, so I may not have expressed the issue accurately.

Yeah, I wasn't even an officer back then, and Ime and XO left like the same day I became XO, so some of the way things are rigged are a little funky and don't have easily selectable or identifiable controls. Though a most of stuff works fine, and moderating is pretty easy.

Oh, and.. there's no status on the board between EQ2 Initiate and EQ2 Veteran. So there's sort of a limbo for member between Initiate and Veteran... rest assured I did not forget anything, and that this is the process as it has been for a year or more. I am looking forward to making all of ya Veterans, because you deserve to be, as well as causing these access issues to stop.
