Welcome to Saga guild!

Please be sure to read the posts stickied at the top of this forum and be sure you agree with the rules and charter. This guild has a history, as you will see. It is, well, a Saga. 

Saga is also part of a multi-game guild formed when a few wandered off to try other games. Sister guilds are forming, and we all come here to check on each other. This multi-game guild is currently called SagaFamily. We are indeed a family. To become part of that, please take the time to fill out the attached roster card and post it to this message.

If, after your membership is accepted, you wish to become a Veteran you will be required to do a quest journal.  Your sponsor will prepare a journal for you with a question unique to you and place it in the Library within three days of your request to be considered for veteran status.  The quest requires that you interview at least three people who are of Member or better rank in game.  You will need to post their response and your reflections, if any, about the interview IC.  If you elect to apply for Veteran status, a majority vote of the leadership of the family at large is required to attain Veteran status.  You are not required to become a veteran if you do not wish to.

Just a reminder: after your first post you will be granted access to the private game related forums, such as questing and tradeskills.

How did you hear of us?  I had been keeping an eye on the Looking for Guild window for a couple days, and yours caught my attention.  I'm an avid roleplayer, and also a EQ2 newb, so a friendly and helpful RP guild was just what the doctor ordered.

Is there anyone you have gotten to know from our family, IC or OOC?  Well, Bella talked with me and brought me into the guild, and she's who I know best so far.  Hopefully I'll get to know you all soon enough.

What Roleplay games have you participated in?  *takes a deep breath* D&D, AD&D, D&D 3.0+3.5, D&D 4.0, Star Wars RPG, D20 Modern, Deadlands, Shadowrun 3'rd ed, Mechwarrior, RIFTS, RECON, Werewolf, Vampire, Mage, Changeling, Adventure, Aberrant, Trinity, All Flesh Must Be Eaten, Lord of the Rings RPG, Godlike, Exalted, CthulhuTech, and several others I am sure I can't remember right now.

What are you looking for as a member of our guild?  To make friends, RP with said friends, and squeeze in some leveling and stuffs in there somewhere.

Tell us of your past. 

  Setting down his tankard, he wipes the ale foam off the scruffy beard covering his chin.  "Well, its not verry thrillin', but it be one ye likely 'ave heard a time or two before.  Me Da was a huntsman, and a strong warrior.  Me Ma was a shaman, proud with wisdom beyond her years.  We were nomadic while I was just a babe, and Da got some work from a merchant in Freeport to scare up some meat to sell."
  "Every'thin was goin' grand at first, but I guess somethin' Da did angered one of them black-hearted Militia thugs, and they decided to come after us.  The old man was clever as Halasian fox though, and got us on a boat to Antonica before they managed tae find us.  We weathered the ocean's fury, and touched down on the shores of Thunder Bluff."
  "My Da had a brother there, who took us in, though he never really made us feel very welcome.  The next winter, Ma caught the shakes and passed in her sleep.  Da didn't have the same fire in his eyes after that, and about two years passed with very little cheer in our lives.  One summer day, he was off lookin' for some herbs to make a tonic with, when he was set upon by a pack of flea-bitten gnolls.  They had him badly outnumbered, but he waded through them down to the last couple.  The mongrels got him with a poisoned arrow, and he died not long after me and my uncle found 'im."
  "Well, my uncle didn't consider me much of kin, seen as how he was only a brother by wedlock, and felt I was just a burden.  So, he shipped me off with a boat headin' to a refuge island.  Some old soldiers there taught me some basic fightin' on top of what me Da did, and I eventually made my way back to Antonica."
  "Now...heh.  Now I just want to keep movin' forward and maby get a good mate or two to share an ale with, and maby find a cause worth fightin' for.  I need focus, and a home...maby now I've found one."

What hobbies and directives do you presently have?

  "Hmm, does drinkin' count as a hobby?" Laughing, he shrugs slightly.  "I guess I really ain't got a hobbie per say.  'cept maby collectin' odd looking rocks.  Dunno why, but I get a kick out of 'em."  He scratches the stubble on his chin, and quirks a brow.  "Don't rightly know about directives.  I ain't never had one, but if I stumble across 'em, I'll let you all know."

Where do you see yourself in the future?

He smirks a bit, and an amused snort escapes him.  There is too much 'future' out there to worry about where I'm headin'.  I'll get where I'm supposed to be soon enough.  It what you do now that matters most."
  "Allthough, if'n your referrin' to my place in the guild...well, I hope I get tae pass on the kindness I've gotten so far to someone else, keep my friends and family safe, and that I'm remembered fondly when it comes time for rejoin the earth.  A barbarian can't ask for more than tha'."

Welcome Wulfdar!  Only on you need to be worried about is Anaris....she will have you carrying her bags if you aren't careful.  Also if you get with Stallago, I'm sure you can get a petion started to formally make drinking a hobby.

A red-haired woman, smaller than the average barbarian but larger than the average human, stands and holds out a calloused hand to be shook.  "Greetin's lad!  It be good ta see another o' Halas descent grace our door.  Make yerself ta home and grab an ale!  Me man'll be about shortly an' we'll have us an adventure or two!"  She pulls out a stool at the bar and gestures for Wulfdar to take a seat.  "Tha name be Boudeccai Boru, Fury o' Saga an' right pleased ta meet ye."

[Sons of Halas]

"Ha!  There never be enough Halasians around!"  ***Konnar enthusiastically slaps Wulfdar on the back in a violent though warm greeting.***  "Welcome brother!  My name is Konnar of th'clan Macuish.  You can call meh Konnar."  ***tilts his head and shouts to nobody in particular***  LET'S GET 'IM FILLED UP!  "'Ere... You can use my stein!"  ***Konnar grins as he hands the recruit a stein that could only be large enough for a Barbarian***. 

"M'ember lad.  We travel far an'fight long.  But 'ere in th'hall the ale never runs dry.  We shall sing'our forefather's memories of Halas an'perhaps oneday we shall see her rise!"
